Hello FHG Peeps,
I am making a blatant plea on behalf of Biker's Oldies Club. She has a 90th birthday to sort on 20th November, quickly followed by her usual Christmas party.
If anyone has any unwanted gift items that they would like to donate for bingo/tombola/raffle, please send to Biker.
Biker and the team are currently supporting 32 'Oldies'. I was about to say 'at St Michael's' but Biker seems to be spending lots of her time supporting them outside of the club (home visits and transport to hospital and - sadly - attending funerals).
So, if you can put a small box of prizes together, it will be a huge help for Biker. I can give you the address if you PM me.
Anne x
P.S. I would love to know who bought that 'parcel of rubbish' that she listed for last MDCC

If any-one wants to save on postage you can contact me and I will shop for you and deliver to biker.
Things like sweeties, tins of biscuits, tea, coffee, tinned soups, hankies, soaps, talc, hand cream, gloves, scarves are all useful

Learning2me has hand-knitted 32 hats (mixture of men/womens) as well as shrugs, cowls and mini-shawls.
Biker has asked for no more hankies as she has enough in her stock locker.
Everything else on stroppy*cows list is correct.
Men's gift sets would be particularly welcome as the men end up getting 'food treats' rather than gift items.
Thank you to anyone who contributes to this appeal. I am sure you all agree that Biker is selfless in her support of the oldies.

I have found my list from Biker:
Smellies - - they prefer single items, not boxed gift sets.....soap, shampoo, shower gel, liquid soap.
Chocolates - Roses, Heroes type that can be divided into gift bags. Last year, 1 tin = 8 prizes
Chocolates - any sort - - NOT toffee
Soft sweets
Socks ( men & women )
Watches
Nice pictorial calendars. (the 'other place has sorted the handbag diaries)
Pen sets
Also last year they had some mugs donated that had teabags / hot choc / tissues etc in and they were loved.
Jars of coffee
Tea bags
Tuna / Sardines / Pilchards -
Tins of fruit (peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, strawberries)
Tins of Evaporated or Condensed Milk
Small tins of beans/spaghetti
Cakes
Biscuits
Soup (both tinned and cup-a-soup)
Microwaveable puddings e.g. treacle sponge, raspberry sponge
Jars of jam and marmalade
Breakfast Cereals - particularly those Variety packs - but larger boxes okay
Also - from experience, if you can buy/send small and middle sized gift bags, that also helps Biker to make up her 'games'.
Christmas banners will also be welcome.
We are also aware that biker needs washable/wipe table coverings like FHG did years ago. They have lasted and been wiped for about 6 years and are 'looking less than clean'. Biker would like to replace them this year for the Christmas Dinner.

Oh yes, and if anyone has any spare curling tape, Biker gets through loads when she's prettying up the gift bags/raffle prizes etc and she'd be delighted to receive it
Over and out, Anne x

I made up the mugs for biker - can do them again, but they need the individual wrapped tea-bags / individual coffee sachets - the sort that you get in hotels. If anyone has any that they could send me I could make up some mugs.
I usually get the cheapest mugs that I can find, and I put in:
The whole lot goes into a plastic bag, is tied with ribbons and has a printed label added.

Let me see if I can track down anyone with hotel tea/coffee ......

How many 'mugs of cheer' do you want to make?
I'll phone my local 4* hotel and ask if they will donate the tea/coffee/chocolate sachets.
Shall I ask for 20 of each? (That would be 10 mugs). If that is more than you want to make, I'll reduce my request accordingly.

Are these any good

20 of each will be great. I will sort out all the rest of the bits

Stan - 2213021756 doesn't work, but yes, both the the tea and coffee are exactly right.
However, lets give geranne chance to see if she can get them donated, but if not I will certainly take you up on that offer.
