Hi everyone
Does anyone know where in the UK I can get hold of anything like these on an American site?
http://factorydirectcraft.com/catalog/categories/2149_2043_2150-christmas_miniatures.html
It's actually my mum who wants small Christmas trees that she uses when making small 3-D cards. The trees on this site are perfect but unfortunatley the postage is too much for her to pay.
I have googled but not with any joy apart from this site. i know a lot of people do crafts so I'm hoping someone might have come across something similar.
Many thanks in advance

Never thought of model railways - thank you!

Some on eBay under the dolls house section but boy are they expensive!

And not on the high street have them too - for around 5 times the price.

Have you tried cake decorations?

If your Mum is handy there is an online tutorial for making them out of sisal string.

You could try making them from a bottle brush, but I guess it could be wasteful as only the pointy
bit would be best.

Thanks to everyone's suggestions. I'll pass them onto Mum. I'm sure we'll find something through the sites suggested.
Have a Merry Christmas!

If you try making your own using sisal, you need to cut the string in about 12" lengths, untwist the strands then lay them in hot water.
That will make the fibres straighten out and when the are just damp, much easier to use.
I always used annealed stainless steel wire but that's probably not easy to get in small quantities so experimentation may be needed.
They are quite easy to make, my ex used to make them thousands at a time: smileyhappy:

I forgot.
You can dye the string with Dylon dye if you wish.

Thanks, that's useful. Mum's fingers aren't quiet as nimble as they used to be but she's still keen with her craftwork.
