Can nyone please explain why my bid was not the winning bid on an item today? The auction was advertised as closing at 06.56 this morning. My bid was recorded at 06.55.59 yet the winning bid was recorded as 06.56.01. This is after the advertised end time!

Why? ebay have been told about this for months if not years - count down times jumping back, countdown stops, then auction ended with still seconds showing on clock. The latest incidents ive noted are the time oddly jumping forward by 5 seconds into a end of auction.
Obviously it used to work fine , until a dimprovement was made by the design team.
You just get fed up with the self inflicted fiascos that sellers pay ebay designers to perform.
Shambles .
Oh and the spell check on posts is still not working after three weeks time, sorry for errors, but they are few compared to ebays ones.

So the auction over ran by 6 seconds.
Does the OP get compensation from the platform?.

It is one of the many annoying quirks of the eBay system. For some reason the end time is only shown in most places in hours and minutes and the seconds are only shown when the countdown clock appears.
