Hi everybody!
The Community Chat will open at 2pm and will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered—We’ll get to everything as quickly as possible.
Please ask your questions in the thread below. In order to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, we ask you to have one question per post. Of course, you can make as many posts as you like in the Chat- the more the merrier!
This week, our eBay Community Team is made up of kat@ebay dave@ebay and marco@ebay. Between us, we have knowledge in Buying, Selling, Fulfilment, Payments, and the Community itself. Anything we aren’t sure on we’ll know the people who will be! Please ask us any questions you may have and we’ll do all we can to support. We understand that certain topics, such as concerns about businesses possibly using private accounts, can be frustrating and important to you. Please refrain from asking the same question repeatedly in our weekly live chats. We assure you that we carefully review all posts in the forum and ensure that your concerns are communicated to the relevant teams for appropriate action.
To maintain a constructive and community environment, posts that repeatedly breach this guideline may be removed. Continued violations could result in further action against your community account. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our community focused and respectful.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, type your question, and click Reply between 2pm and 3pm. The community team will answer each incoming question in chronological order and will quote the original question in each answer.
Please note that any reply without a question to the community team or discussion replies may be removed from the chat. We want to keep on track to get through as many questions as possible. We welcome all discussion to be moved to the discussion boards.
If you missed the weekly chat time, please ask your question in the community boards and tag us or we will be back next week with another chat!
Many thanks,
Your eBay Community Team

Hi
I posted an order through eBay simple delivery with Royal Mail there was a tracking number but this doesn’t seem to work on Royal Mail, I also do still have the receipt for this but I know the buyer has received the order as they have left a positive review yet on my account it still only says dispatched?
Can you amend this to delivered?
Item number is 196928503827
I have also noticed a couple of others last year that did the same
Item number: 197597062438
Item number: 196928509037
Thanks

Hi I raised this here 2 years ago but nothing seems to have changed so I was hoping it could be raised again...... I have quite a few multi listings but I`ve never understood why when someone clicks on the item to look, before they even select a variation it shows `last one` or `1` or `2` available when I have over 100 options available! Your figure is evidently the most of any of the individual variations that I have within the multi listing. THIS IS NO USE TO ANYONE and can put people off…. They should see there are actually 20, 50 or 250etc individual variations available. Can you let me have your response please

Hi @jojo_moggy ,
We are unable to do manually update to delivered on the system. It is automatically updated from the data on the Royal Mail site. The information transfers over to eBay. There is delays with the Royal Mail at the moment. As this order was from the 7th of March the funds should be available.
Thank you,
Kat

Another issue I raised 2 years ago.......
ADDING TRACKING TO MULTI ITEM SALES
I have quite a few multi listing items and can often sell 5, 10 or 20 items in one sale from THE SAME LISTING. If I then have to add tracking details I have to enter the identical tracking details 5 10 or 20 times for it to show on my orders page. I was told by CS that I only need to enter details in the top item and it will automatically populate the rest but this is NOT the case. There should be a box to tick (on the Add tracking details screen) if you want the same details entered against every item (which is always the case for me) this is such an obvious idea I really dont understand why it hasnt been implemented, it must affect a lot of sellers. Please let me have your comments thanks

The Sneakers Authenticity Guarantee programme protects SELLERS as well as buyers, as buyers cannot claim to have received a wrong or `not as described` item.
But now you are moving that from £100 minimum value to £200 minimum so sellers will not be protected under £200.
You have added the option for BUYERS to add the authenticity check for £10, why not for sellers?
I could choose to pay £10 for my sold items to be checked.
I wont be selling any more under £200 without protection.
Please either keep the value for checking at £100 OR give the SELLER the option to add the check for £10.

Best match can sometimes show the most popular item from the list, which can be the one that has the most sales so less stock.
I'll pass your feedback over to the site team as a possible improvement but I'm not sure it would be something they have any plans to change.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi solidclearance, thanks for your post.
I see what you are coming from, and I can see what you mean. However, this is purely based on business needs, but we will pass on your thoughts around these changes, so this can be taken into consideration.
Regarding seller protection, we still have our Money Back Guarantee, which you can see here. So, it wouldn't be a case of no protection at all for the seller.
Thank you,
Marco

the problem I think is that the RM postmen/women dont always scan on delivery which is a major fault with the system. Not sure how this affects your metrics as luckily I dont use Simple Delivery as Im a business seller!
EBAY CAN YOU CONFIRM THERE ARE NO PLANS TO MAKE BUSINESS SELLERS USE THE SD SYSTEM AS THAT WOULD KILL THE SITE OFF AS I AND MOST SELLERS WOULD LEAVE IN DROVES (I`ve been selling here for 23 years!)

Hi @russellmattin ,
There can be instances where sellers may have different tracking for multiple items within an order however I understand on what your advising. While we cannot guarantee a change in the process I'll share your feedback on this process with the relevant team.
Thank you,
Kat

Hi @russellmattin ,
There are no current plans for Simple Delivery for business sellers. If this was to be introduced it would be as an option and not mandatory.

Thanks Marco,
Please do consider it as I will probably stop selling without that Authenticity Guarantee protection.
Even if I have to pay the £10 for it myself as a seller.

Thanks for your reply, solidclearance.
That's no problem, I will add this to your feedback and send it on, we appreciate the feedback anyway, so thanks for that.
Thank you,

I could understand that but it always seems to happen when I am sending as a large letter through eBay with Royal Mail the tracking number never works and seems that it isn't really included with this postage method so then these items are never updating to being delivered.
Surely your system should be able to update after a certain amount of time or if a buyer can confirm receipt instead of relying on what seems to be none existent tracking information off Royal Mail to update which never happens as it shows in the other two times it's happened from last year that also still show the same.

Hi @jojo_moggy ,
This would be because this service is not a tracked service with the Royal Mail like the other services would be. With tracked services there are updates throughout the journey. When you put the 2nd class tracking numbers into Royal Mail it tells you that it only provides an update once delivered. It needs to update as delivered within the Royal Mail before that data can transfer over to eBay.
Thank you,
Kat
