Hi @dwtrading2015 , thanks for your post.
I can see that Dave replied to you here . That is correct information on how the feedback is being calculated.
Let me know please if you have any more questions or if you can give a specific example (item number) where you believe the feedback hasn't been taken into the consideration.
Thanks,
Anita

I would like to know why eBay are hiding sellers Feedback under the guise of 'most relevant'? Most relevant is surely how the seller is currently performing, not how they performed a year or 6 months ago. As a buyer I cannot make an informed choice to purchase based on eBays idea of what is most relevant.
Is this a trial? (it sure is for the buyer!)

Have the rules changed regarding having a minimum feedback rating to sell? I'm sure in the past if a seller went below a certain percentage like 80% or something, they were banned from selling.
I came across a seller with 17.4% feedback and yet they're still selling several items a day, and it seems from the comments that they're ripping people off regularly.
Why does eBay allow sellers like this to continue? Surely this is bad for eBay's reputation, bad for buyers and bad for other sellers who may get tarred with the same brush?

After the generic reply, I was asked to send details, as I did below (11th May),
"You asked to DM regarding the feedback score issue I raised. The feedback score profile says there are 435 positive, only 399 are used in the calculation. I went back through the last 12 months of feedback looking for duplicates and only found 4 multiple feedbacks. 431 should be used for the calculation. It does look like the multiple feedback count is over a much longer period of time, I suggest from when the account opened."
This has not been answered, the details are clear. There does appear to be an error in the software.

Hi sweetcharity.2013, thanks for your question.
We don't really hide any feedback, all feedback are visible on each seller's page for all buyers to see. The only thing that has changed is the sort order of feedback, which is now sorted by most relevant as default. However, you can change the sort order to most recent if you wish.
No, this is not a trial, it's been like this for a while now and it will remain the same for the moment.
Thank you,
Marco

When I tried to leave feedback this morning for a seller, I couldn't do it (the 'leave feedback' button was greyed out) unless I filled in the 'product review' at the top of the page (see screenshot).
As this was for an item that didn't arrive, I didn't want to/couldn't leave a review for the item. I just wanted to give feedback for the seller, who was quick to reply to my message, polite and helpful.
This was pressing the 'leave feedback' button that appeared on the item at the top of my feedback page.
Later I tried just going to 'leave feedback' via the Hub and I could leave it without the product review.
I thought feedback was supposed to be about the transaction, NOT about a product review?
Surely at the very least this should be optional?

Hi @darth_baggins, thanks for your post.
We are still taking feedback into the consideration when taking action on the accounts, however solely on feedback % the account probably wouldn't be suspended, unless it has been flagged proactively or reported to us.
So, while, they may have a low feedback score, they may have resolved all their claims and are meeting seller performance standards. I would agree though that this is a very low feedback rate %, so I would recommend reporting the seller to our trust & safety team for a review.
Thank you,
Anita

Hi kempseykate, thanks for your question.
Yes, I've seen a few reports on this and some other users have expressed their thoughts on this to me. So, I am currently working on this to see if this is a change that we are looking to keep going forward, or if it is a temporary test. I will use your case as an example, and add it to the report I created for this already. Once I get confirmation from the team in question, I will make sure to update you on it and the other users that reached out to me to let me know about this.
Thank you,
Marco

Thanks marco@ebay.
I'm aware the feedback order changed to suit eBay & that I now have to spend even more of my time on researching a seller's performance. BUT why should I, as a buyer, have to continuously filter information that should be there in front of me?
The sort order is set by default to most relevant, or is this something I can change once & for all?

Hi folks,
I know you are very busy but if someone could cast any light on this query I'm sure Julia would be very grateful.
I did message Dave with my thoughts but he may be tied up as he usually responds very quickly.
Many thx.

I'd like to follow up something Marco said on last week's chat.
Oh ok, so if they said they'd look into it for you, then you'd need to wait for them to get back to you on it. Regarding your question, if an item is delivered, but the buyer opens an item not received case stating that the item was not received, you will be protected as long as you can prove that the item was delivered with proof of delivery (A tracking number showing the item as delivered to the correct address). However, the buyer is still entitled to express their buying experience through feedback.
I was under the impression that if a seller won a case, any feedback would be removed. Are you saying this is no longer the case and that even if a seller has proof of delivery, eBay will still allow the 'buyer' to leave bad feedback?
If so, when did this change please?

@dwtrading2015, thanks for replying. I will be happy to look into this more in detail. It will take some time to investigate this, so I will take some time after the chat and come back to you once it's been reviewed.
Thanks,

According to data, most buyers find the sort order of feedback more useful when is set as most relevant than most recent. In fact, most of the marketplaces are now adapting to these changes as well. You can change the filter to most recent, but then it will go back to default, which is most relevant.
Thank you,
Marco

Are you able to tell me how eBay determine whats relevant and whats not? I don't see how something a buyer purchased 9 months ago is as relevant to something purchased a week ago. I want to know how the seller is operating currently not historically.

Hi darth_baggins, thanks for your question.
It depends in each case, as different aspects can change from time to time in each scenario. As per our policies, if a case is closed in the seller's favor, normally the feedback would be removed. However, if the buyer is only expressing their buying experience, there is a chance that the feedback will remain. However, it really depends in the entire case to see if it qualifies for removal or not.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi all.
I hear ebay are doing away with "American Express" cards/payments as there to expensive now, come August this year.
Is that correct?
12-06-2024 2:40 PM
Dear team
I like many others am really exasperated with the business sellers masquerading as private sellers. It's blatant fee avoidance.
I know the team say report the seller, but my question is when are eBay going to take responsibility for the situation?
How does a private seller with at least 3 shops all selling similar items each with over 4,000 multiple items fly under the radar?
I have given up reporting these sellers because nothing ever happens.
I would just like a level playing field.
Jo
