Perhaps better searching would be the solution? Try using something like this in the search bar:
"jellies" -vegan

Most makers of jelly products now exclude animal derived ingredients to garner the widest possible market for their products.
It is not possible to block eBayers selling these products.
However, be on the lookout for products by Maynards, Haribo, Hartley's and Dole which do contain gelatin, or any product which specifies E428 as an ingredient.

The OP is not looking for vegan products, but requires gelatin as an ingredient...

sure cos everybody put in description its vegan or set tag for it.
you search for jvc and get samsung products. thats how good search is

exactly. and to everybody else i think they never heard "customer is always right"
this is overlooked problem i think as community we should be able to create list and share it for sellers to boycott that dont get that vegan freaks are not majority and i will not support wef "eat ze bugz"
funny aldi and many others no long put in front "vegan" logo, now its only suitable for vegetarians in small font.
did they lost so much sales promoting that disgusting scam. same as vegan minced meat, hamburgers, sausage. we must defend naming product properly and boycott everybody who support those freaks

What angry, ignorant and hateful posts #1 and #7 are!
I'm not a vegan myself, so I don't feel personally offended, but I am puzzled as to why the OP calls them "freaks". They're just people who choose not to eat animal or animal-derived products for various reasons, usually ethical or health-related.
More concerning is the OP referring to vegans as "pdfs" in post #1, which I think we can safely assume is meant be taken as "p**dophiles" in coded form - unless of course the OP genuinely thinks that vegans are a type of computer file format, which would still be pretty weird, albeit nowhere near as incendiary.
My partner's brother has been a vegan for 30-odd years. Since I'm concerned about child welfare, I guess I'd better report him to the authorities...
Also, I fail to see how selling vegan products is "scamming". Or how eating bugs is something that vegans would do. I think the OP is a bit confused.
Good luck to the OP with their intention to "boycott everybody who supports these freaks". For a start, they'd have to boycott Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, Lidl, Aldi, and any other food retailer that sells vegan products (by selling products that cater for a vegan diet they are supporting vegans). Amazon and eBay both host sellers who offer vegan products, so the OP will need to stick to their principles and not buy from thoses platforms either. And that's just for (vegan) starters.
P.S. Despite not being a vegan, I have eaten many vegan products, including gelatine-free jellies and other sweets. I couldn't tell any difference in taste or texture between them and ones containing gelatine. It's just a gelling/thickening/stabilizing element for which non-animal-derived alternatives now exist.

I sincerely hope that you're interpretation of "pdfs" is incorrect, and that my assumption that it is an anacronym for "plant derived food stuffs" was closer to the mark.
I meant to add that I lived and ate as Vegan for many years, the real benefits gained were from cutting out lactose... although I should further mention that it is the methods of harvesting, farming and butchering to which I did, and still do, object... I have no problem with killing, dressing and consuming my own meat.

Taking it in the context of the post (the general rantiness, the use of the word "freaks", and so on), I think my interpretation is correct. Perhaps the OP would care to clarify.
When the file format was created, it became a bit of a 'joke' that if you say "PDF file" out loud it sounds similar to the other word. My interpretation doesn't exist in isolation.
My partner's brother is a bit of a poster- boy for veganism, he's incredibly fit and healthy.

I had no idea! I do not socially interact with persons who derive amusement in such manner and had remained gratefully unaware until you mentioned it.
I cannot agree that the OP, who is clearly not a native English speaker, would be aware of this either, or meant it in the manner you suggest... from "freaks" to "pedophiles" is a bit of a leap, no?
However it was meant, I find myself unhappy with the OPs continued repitition of the "f-word"... Its unnecessary and unpleasant, not to mention a display of narrow-minded intolerance, although I rather think it does more harm to their complaint/rant than garner any sympathy or understanding for their own POV or life choices.

There is no need to block sellers. Just buy from a registered business seller. By law they will have a full ingredient and allergen list in the product description. Only registered business sellers should be selling this product anyway. If you come across any private sellers selling jelly without a full ingredient and allergen list then report them to eBay for breaking not only UK law but eBay's own policy that anyone selling food has to be registered as a business seller.

Wow! Just really WOW!
The only insinuation or presumption being made here is your own, in that my innocent remark was at all "aimed" at yourself, when it most definitely was not.
That you have read it in that manner, and comment at great length thereupon, has been educational... rather than emotional.
Thank you.

Kindly re-read your post.
You could have simply said, "I didn't know that." Instead, you specifically pointed that you "do not socially interact with persons who derive amusement in such manner", the implication being that I do, and that this is how I came to know about it. Otherwise, why even bother mentioning it?
Anyway, given that this is likely a misunderstanding partly attributable to your choice of words and partly to my interpretation thereof, I feel there is nothing to be gained by discussing the matter further other than more antagonism, for which, if you'll pardon the pun, I have no appetite.
If I misunderstood your intended meaning, I apologize. Hopefully, I have at least explained the reason for my response. If the insinuation was imaginary on my part, then again - sorry.

Apologies, I meant to post the above as a reply to you (obviously); seems I cannot do so retrospectively.
06-10-2025 12:43 PM
Thank you, your kind words are very much appreciated.
In turn, I wish to offer my sincere apologies for any offence caused... it was honestly not done intentionally, but I now see on reflection that it could easily be misconstrued as such and my choice of wording open to interpretation.
I was just wondering whether or not to PM you to offer the branch of peace... kudos to you for taking the first step

And thank you, too. I admit that I'm sometimes over-sensitive to the nuances of behaviour and language, and am prone to perceive a slight where none is intended. Like all of us at times.
It's part of the reason why I spend too long tweaking and re-wording things - not just posts here, but emails to official bodies, etc. I try to preclude any possibility of misapprehension or misinterpretation on the reader's part - which is, of course, ultimately futile, not least because it presumes full attention and a certain degree of intelligence on their part - which is by no means guaranteed!
I'm glad we nipped it in the bud there. There's enough negativity and division on the boards as it is. Sincere apologies to anyone who was getting the popcorn out!
06-10-2025 2:10 PM
Just had my knuckles rapped by a mod for being disrespectful!
But it's presumably fine to call vegans "freaks" and to imply certain undesirable behaviours on their part.

Hi everyone,
This discussion has gotten a bit off topic. Please bring the discussion back to subject established in the original post.
Thank you.

Well I don't think you're too far wrong with seeing 'pdf' as possibly becoming a very *modern* insulting name to call somebody....
About a year ago I was in the car with husband, and on the pavment a bunch of revolting 13/14 year old boys starting shouting and gobbing off. In the past their insults of choice would have been 'w**ker' or 'to**er' or richard-head or whatever...
Now they just shout 'paedo-o'!
