Seller sending used electricals as new, would you have faith in the returns process?!

What can I say, project beefsteaks taken a tumble after years of happy ebaying!

They are a business seller, listed new items, I paid for new items, sends clearly used second hand and in this case faulty item. After some effort I get sent another used second hand item. The communication so far has been extortionary, like have you found the protective screen it's difficult to find! One had a protective screen one didn't, neither were magic and had no effect on previous owners / trips around the factory floor / whatever caused so much clear and obvious damage.

After a year of saving I'm supposed to trust this lot with a return?! To be frank I consider their process so far as fraudulent. I read how best to go about it and all links are to protect sellers from buyers fraud and how much could be deducted etc etc and I can see nothing but problems! Now this is one part of a bundle so don't want to send it all off only to lose over £300 when I can replace the one item with one - from another manufacturer I might add - for less.

Would you cut your loses and never bother with such a purchase on ebay again or would you throw yourself in the river and hope for the best? I have no faith in the sellers morals or standards and I'm stood on the river bank 😞

quite simple and safe -

When a buyer receives an item that's not as described they open a not as described case and not bother with 'replacements' as buyer protection runs from the dates of the first item.

You must trust eBay and the Moneyback Guarantee to protect you.

When an item arrives damaged or Not As Described you should open a Return Request from your account.

Use the Help & Contact tab in the top left corner of your screen as this is the easiset to use and eBay will "guide" you through the process.

When you have bought several items you should be permitted to select the one affected item from a list.

A short, clearly worded description of the problem is best - "The item is Used not New" for instance - and add photographs of the problem.

Do not talk to the seller or accept any replacements unless they are offering a solution in response to your official request through eBay.

eBay have dealt with thousands, if not millions, of similar cases... let them help you, and if you need extra or personal help have the customer service team call you...

Thank you for your replies, I did try the replacement way as was only one component and have always been fine trading on ebay before, happy as,  I understand this can be mistake these days. It seems easier to just send it all back than to try to sort something, I guess I am getting old! Of course if you don't then lots of things can come into play, the rest of it's second hand now so they can deduct for this.... I am suddenly hiring something then and reduced budget to replace?!

Of course this is only part of life, the cost if it all goes back includes wait until next season for a start, it is for sure the most roundest of aches.

I have a return open and some time on that, also still open dialogue with seller so we'll see. The item in question was within a perfect box of goodies all packaging perfect and this nestled within, I know it was not shipping you know. The seller has now sent a replacement unfortunately at first I thought they were having a wind up as that arrived damaged too - however on reflection this could of started life as good lol but packaging not great and a rough journey, I cannot discount good intentions you know so I've made a note of that call back thing thank you and will give it a day or two see what happens.

Item Not As Described covers wrong items, a poor condition compared to the description, damages in transit, and even a late delivery.

The burden is the sellers... not yours. Again, let ebay look after you.

Please don't wait too long... you have only 30 days from the latest estimated or actual delivery date to file a claim.

Best regards & Good Luck!
