Purchase

Hi,

I purchased an expensive pair of boots from eBay. First I didn’t realise I didn’t pay by PayPal secondly eBay gave positive feedback on my behalf. The boots were described as brand new never worn, however they were all creased and damaged and split. I reached out to the seller but didn’t raise an issue immediately. The time has now lapsed and I’m getting the runaround on eBay. I am angry that I have lost hundreds of pounds and there is nothing I can do, meanwhile the dishonest seller has my money and positive feedback.
what if any were my options?

Both PayPal and ebay provide buyer protection but both only do so for 30 days.

If you have allowed the seller to run you out of that time, then you have no options with ebay, but could look into a chargeback with your funding source.

Re: Purchase

Besides good advice received about Chargeback, do you know that your personal Feedback overwrites eBay automatic feedback? So you can still leave an accurate statement of your experience, if you haven't let too much time pass. Keep it direct and factual to make it stick. Something like 'Disappointing item, much more damaged than described.' should stick.
