Item not posted and passed delivery date- seller not responding to messages

Hello eBayers

I bought an item two weeks ago with a delivery date within two days and a latest delivery date of a week. After a week had passed I contacted the seller to cancel as the item hadn't been listed as posted, let alone arrived with me. I received no response. I asked again two days later byt got no response. I then contacted eBay to cancel but received an email that the seller refused to cancel. I then contacted the seller again to cancelthe item but recieved no response.

Feedback on the seller's profile has more than ten instances of this happening with other buyers, some of whom have managed to get a refund. How do I do this?

Long story short, the item is overdue for delivery and isn't listed as posted and the seller isn't responding to messages.

Thanks for any help that can be given.

Item not posted and passed delivery date- seller not responding to messages

Thanks fellow eBayers for the help with my case. I was able to request a refund today and got this message:

You should hear from the seller soon. If the issue is still unresolved by 9 Nov, you can ask us for help.

Don't forget, your item's covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee

I think I can wait until the 9th and ask for help.

Go to the item on your purchase history and, using the menu, open an Item not Received case.

If you have neither received it or been refunded in 3 days escalate your case for ebay to step in, who should refund you.

You should be able to leave feedback. Have you checked to see if the transaction has moved to the bottom of your purchases so should be able to click there?

Otherwise go to your own feedback page and there should be a link to leave feedback.

Incidentally your seller will have a nice shiny defect on their account because of cancelling with "out of stock2

Item not posted and passed delivery date- seller not responding to messages

Thank you for this response. I have asked eBay to step in who told me that the seller refused to cancel, but the item is still listed as unposted and I don't have it. When I click 'item not recieved' on the order I get 'If you haven't received your item by 4 Nov, go to your Purchases and find the item. Then select More actions beside the item and choose I didn't receive it to open a request.' Does this mean I have to wait until tomorrow (5. November)? There is no other button for me to select.

Can you tell me why I should need to leave feedback yet (I think I am being naive with this, but is it to leave a 'not received from the seller' or something similar?)?

Thanks again.

Item not posted and passed delivery date- seller not responding to messages

Today is the 4th so give it till tomorrow to escalate it. "Ask Ebay to step in"

The seller may have posted it but not marked it as dispatched.

But as they wont answer messages just go with the Item not recieved case

Item not posted and passed delivery date- seller not responding to messages

If the selller keeps on playing Silly Buggers and you still haven't received the item by tomorrow - ie:  Tuesday 5th November 2024 - then if for some reason you cannot open an eBay Item Not Received case, despite it being less than thirty days since the date of purchase, make a note of the item listing number (you will need to give this to the eBay representative so that they know which purchase you need help with).  Once you have this in front of you contact eBay Customer Services about the matter by clicking on the following link https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid.  A new page will appear on the screen after you click on that link.  Scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on the blue button that says "Have Us Call You" and somebody from eBay ought to phone you shortly afterwards.

Although the lines are open from 8:00am to 10:00pm from Monday to Friday and from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, the best option is to try and contact them first thing in the morning when the lines open, as that way you will stand a far greater chance of getting a call back from somebody in Ireland, rather than an eBay representative working in eBay's Philippines-based call centre, thus reducing the chances of having to try and explain what has gone wrong to somebody whose fluency in English may well leave a lot to be desired.

Item not posted and passed delivery date- seller not responding to messages

It may be that the last estimated delivery date won't have passed until tomorrow, so assuming it doesn't arrive then, do as advised above and open a Not Received Case tomorrow. You will still get 3 days to escalate.

To answer your question about feedback, you don't have to leave feedback, it is not a prerequisite of your case.

The best thing is to leave it after the transaction has completed and you have a proper rounded view of te whole case.

Item not posted and passed delivery date- seller not responding to messages

Hi,

We're you able to get a refund.

The inconvenience since this started made me swear never to buy such costly item on ebay again. I am surprised ebay gives much leeway to this clear attempt to undercut the system by pushing the buyer till your 30days elapses. I am similar situation been over a week, evri still says we expecting it. Rejected to cancel, won't reply to messages and when he foes, says some story that just makes no sense. Like I just went to buy it at curry's for an item(PS with games) that is meant to be preowened.

Reported all this to ebay and they still gave him addition one week to deliver. Now have to wait till 10th.

Item not posted and passed delivery date- seller not responding to messages

Hi there

Yes I did, I went with answer 4 from Naughty_Neena. I got the refund after my last message. It has happened again since then with another seller too and in the same sense as you've been asked, so it's something that eBay seems used to. It's unfortunate that buyers have to undergo this.

Regards.

I'm not sure exactly what has happened here,  or what the eBay Customer Service agent told you,  but they cannot extend an estimated date for delivery.

If a reasonable time passes your item's  original last estimated date for delivery,  the one listed on the listing not the one CS agent gave you,   and you have not received the item,  and if the seller is not being helpful,  go right of the item purchased,  and from More Actions select....  I Have Not Received My Item.

If you are not fully refunded within 3 days,  you must escalate the case on day 4 or within 30 days from opening the case,  and eBay will step in and force the refund.

Do not close the case early for any excuse or promise the seller may give,  and do not forget to escalate.
