How do I get the old view with options down the left hand side

When I search for an item via its title, such as 'Peugeot 107', the results page has the usual options down the left hand side - such as a Price option with 'From' and 'To' boxes. But when I browse for cars via the 'Shop by Category' link, and select 'Cars' under 'Motors', the options are across the top of the results, as buttons, and when you click on 'Price', it only gives you three useless options:

'Under £5,780',

'£5,780 to £11,600'.

'Over £11,600'.

That's it. No other options. I want to choose 'From £0 to £2,000', like I used to be able to do with the left hand side options. Is there a reason for making things more difficult for users? Some bright sparks at Ebay sitting round a table, trying to justify their jobs by CHANGING things for no reason, and making it impossible to find things you want?

I would have thought being able to select a specific maximum price was very common and absolutely vital for all buyers - after all, most of us have a budget and have to stick to it.

Or is there some way of changing the view I am seeing, and getting the options down the left hand side again?

Re: How do I get the old view with options down the left hand side

When you log onto eBay are you using the app, or are you logging in using a laptop or a PC?  Although I've never tried it myself, I've heard from other people that the search results can show up differently on the app, so if you're using the app to log into eBay try using a laptop or a PC and see if that helps.

In the event that you're already using a laptop or a PC try resetting the way that you want the page to display on the screen by clicking on the bullet point icon at the top of the page and selecting the "Customise Your Search" option from the drop-down list.  I've included a screenshot below this post to show you what it looks like on my own laptop - I've got my own page configured to show the results in exactly the same way that you said you would like them to display for you, so perhaps if you were to copy the settings shown in the screenshot it may result in the page layout displaying how you wish it to display when you view the search results.

Re: How do I get the old view with options down the left hand side

I don't think this will get the old design page, but try choosing the cars motocycles & vehicles. cat from the dropdown next to where you would enter a title search.

Next try clicking on 'all filters' & then choose price & you should get the boxes to enter your own price range.

You can also click on 'Advanced' <next to the search bar> which will also give you more options.

Re: How do I get the old view with options down the left hand side

Many thanks for your help! I've tried clicking on the bullet point icon, mine is on the top right, next to a drop down menu where I normally choose 'Nearest first', but my bullet point icon only has 'List View' and 'Gallery View' in it.

I am using a PC by the way, I should have stated that in my original post.

My screen looks like this:

Re: How do I get the old view with options down the left hand side

Hi zoomingmouse, many thanks for your help too! That kind of works for me - on the Cars page I had selected 'Hatchback' and then I think the 'All filters' option vanished on the next page.

I tried the 'Advanced' option, but when I put in the prices I want, it takes me back to a general page of loads of categories, then I choose 'Cars' again, and then 'Hatchback', but then it shows all prices, not just under £2,000.

It's crazy that Ebay haven't tested this - is it supposed to make life easier, by taking basic search options away?

Re: How do I get the old view with options down the left hand side

Basically, this all boils down to there being no 'All filters' option at the top, once I click on 'Hatchback' (or presumably any of the other subcategories on the 'Cars' page).

Yeah, they don't appear to test anything before releasing it upon us poor users... I'm amazed anyone is still here.
