Help - I received an item from a private seller, supposed to be sent R.M. Tracked 48 - actually sent 2nd Class Standard Parcels - but not showing as delivered.
So I'm not getting an Ebay option to request a return based on SNAD (defective). I could always claim that the *described* item was not delivered, I guess, with some honesty, but am reluctant to do that.
I made the mistake of messaging him in Ebay saying I'd received it but not as described, either a SNAD return or he could offer me a partial refund.
I found within a few hours that it's defective & unusable. It's a laptop, "Used" category item described as Good Working Condition. & half the keys don't work. I've taken a video showing that but you can't send videos in Ebay messages.
As sent 2nd Class parcels (not tracked) Ebay don't have info on its delivery
Back in the day a k/b replacement was quick & easy but now it's major aggravation plus the cost of
replacement. If it was a 5 minute swap + £10 cost I could have lived with it.
Any suggestions ? TIA.

That should not stop you opening a case.
Have you left it until at least a day after the expected delivery date ebay gave you when you paid just in case that's the problem?

you have to leave it 24 hours after the estimated delivery. Then you should be able to open a case for item not as described

Thanks to you & papso, similar response, it's a "rookie buyer mistake", I've been so focussed on avoiding pitfalls as a seller these last 2 decades, I've lost track of the realities buyers can face. Thanks to you both

What I thought were the suggestions have turned out not to be. Ebay are still not allowing me to claim INAD/SNAD. Looks like a glitch with Ebay assuming the item is not despatched as no "Despatch" flagged by buyer/RM, (sent untracked 2nd Class instead) hence Ebay considers no requirement for me to have it yet ?? 9 business days, 3 holidays, 2 weekends later. Possibly, the seller really knows how to "play the system" 😞 With advertised RM 48 tracked, should have gotten to me by now. Any additional suggestions, anyone , please ?

Thanks again for both of your suggestions, though I've a lot of time on my hands these days I have been a bit discouraged by what others have said of such interactions with Ebay, plus also my own interactions in the past. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet 😞

Hi, being as you have received it as in your post of the 2nd - give customer service a call like the others on here have said, and speak to an actual human agent 😉 for advice.. good luck.

Thanks once again for your great assistance. Clicking the link allowed me to specify the item for a return, which no other option on Ebay gave me. So I have pursued that.
