So I've just had an eBay order of 3 whisks delivered after about 10 days. Sent from a fulfillment warehouse after being sent from China. The Yodel tracking even stated Shein! So I've paid nearly £6 for an item selling for around £1.50 on Shein. Although obviously Shein would charge postage. Surely eBay sellers shouldn't be advertising stuff that they are then ordering from Shein ?

You are correct, this type of Dropshipping is against eBay's policy.
'However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not allowed on eBay.'
You can report the Seller here:

Exactly the same has happened to me for an ice cream scoop, becoming aware of it when the tracking updated and texts & tracking show "your Shein delivery".
In my case, however, it was the cheapest option anywhere that I could find at the time., although I will still report the seller.

In this case the Seller is in breach of e-Bay's rules, or certainly appears to be. They have a short-sighted business model as they've introduced you to a cheaper supplier who you are likely to make similar purchases from in future.
It also shows the importance of doing your research before making a purchase from anywhere.
