For the 2nd time in a week I have used the DHL collect option when I have sold an item on Ebay. On both occasions DHL have failed to collect and I have had to pay DPD to come out. How do i get my money back for this failed courier charge? No links found on Ebay and DHL say I am not the customer??

Sorry to hear of this experience with DHL. The other option would be to use your own courier. A refund request for the DHL postage can be submitted through the form here .

Why should we have to use our own courier? This is the whole point in using ebay, if you can’t provide a service why is it being offered

Well... not just 'offered' : its' being forced.
If ebay are going to force their system and their choice of courier on all private sellers, they *have* to make sure it works.

They don’t though, they clearly don’t care. EBay just palmed me off when I called them and DHL say my “premises” was closed

If DHL aren't capable of anticipating their sales volumes or responding adequately when their forecasts are wrong, then they are not fit for purpose as a contracted service to a major online sales platform.
Their uselessness contributed to the demise of House of Fraser, and is now doing the same to ebay.
