I have been a customer for over 20 years. I am 80 years old. I been asked to verify my age by giving visa card details. When I entered the card number it did not accept it, but Ebay has happily debited it for that 20 years. Mad as hell dies not cover it.

Unfortunately eBay has descended into a complete and utter mess, what with all of these badly thought out and deeply unpopular changes that they keep on making to the site.

Is your Visa a credit card or a debit card? Only credit cards are accepted by eBay as proof of age, as minors can have debit cards (some of which have the Visa logo).

There are many other ways of proving your age but eBay doesn't accept any of them – presumably because they cannot be automated as easily as checking that a credit card is valid.

Ebay lost seller a sale. Only pittance if a figure, but what if it had been 100's I think the seller would been dancing with rage.
