i belive a genuine ebayers account has been hacked
You can't report suspected hacking on the account holder's behalf - it is the account holder who must report it. Ebay (or any company) cannot discuss another person's account with you - it would breach strict data protection laws - so they won't be emailing you. (They have no email support in any case.)
If you've ordered something which hasn't arrived, or has arrived damaged, faulty or not as described, read the Money Back Guarantee, and follow instructions to get your money back. It's on every eligible listing, and in various other places across the site. You also have the More Actions dropdown on your Purchase History page, the Resolution Centre (link at foot of any page), and the Help pages (links at top and foot of any page) to refer to.
You hit the nail on the head.........
The reason is people do not practice good IT & account security & allow their details to be stolen & used for these frauds.....
This is not eBay's proble as such & if people kept their accounts secure it would not happen.....it's not eBay that's been hacked......it's details stolen & sold on from malware, insecure wifi & phishing
