Item damaged, seller not answering messages & now no longer registered

Hi, my item arrived from Australia badly damaged, I've sent two messages to the seller, neither answered and he is now showing as no longer registered on eBay. What do I do now to obtain a refund please? Also I've had to pay a customs fee as well, will eBay refund this? Many thanks.

You paid VAT and possibly import tax to the UK government, not to Ebay, so go to the government's website to learn how to lodge a refund claim.

When this happens you have to open a case with Paypal rather than eBay.  Even if you used your card direct it will have been processed by Paypal, possibly as guest.  If you don't have a Paypal account yet you need to register one first:

Sign up to get the return postage paid:

Then open a "Not as described" dispute here:

https://www.paypal.com/uk/disputes/

and escalate it after 2 days and before 20 days.

26.11.20. We have been on ebay for 30 yrs. (sadly). We bought an item two weeks ago, that comprised 7 items within the box. When they arr they were not what we ordered. The only request fro a refund we could find immediately said that we had to send the item back and a label was now on our Computer. Thats no good whatsoever as all three printers here are disablewd and not been used for at least 8 yrs. Also we cannot get to Post Office as its a round trip of one and three quarters hours walk.Our vehicle is disabled and not taxed or insured or MOTd.. So, we sent seller a message asking for a label via post and we requested that the seller sent a Courier We dont go anywhere so we are available here 24 hours a day. No reply was recd so we sent another reminder. We have talked to Ebay today and explained we have not got a working printer here at moment. All of them are disabled..Also even if we could print a label the post office is minimum. an hour and a halfs journey, There are major health issues here incl fle like symptoms since Dec 2019. We mean Sinus. Headaches. Utter Exhaustion. Coughing. Heart Skip. we can not get any response from any Health Org since 2014. when another major illness hit us here and lasted 7 yrs We include Hancock at his cottage in Fornham West Suffolk. And 150 Councillors. We are experiencing Police violence. Ebay suggest that you send in the post a Courier Label so someone can come pick the items up. As we have no transport we are here 24 hours a day but anyone arriving should make self announcement by loud noise.You have all our details but let us know which day is choasen. We came here to escape Met Police violence but the sad thing is its even worse here.No replies from 25 HM MPs.This area is known for suicides yet the current HM MP, a teacher, says all is perfect.The EEC admits crrptn.This is a sworn statement. We telephoned Cust Services ebay and the person waffled for 3/4 of an hour. They said we are forced to do as ebay instruct and if we cant we loose our money. Not one word about the Virus risk after we already had that illness since Nov 2019. Our survival is at moment about 90% against. We are looking into the matter of what happens to this place if we die. We have neen in business and we could not have done that using ebay tactics. They support loads crrpt charities. We investigated them when traipsing Cent London accompanied by victims. Thats when we got the threats to kill us. We are now attempting to avoid Ebay. By the way F-bk. Yahoo. Twitter have been destroying our mails and accounts. Google seems to be clean. Johnson is not a PM cos of crrptn at Electoral Commission. God Help Europe cos EEC say-'Nothing Can Be Done About Crrptn'. Not spell chkd.

One thing you do not have to worry about is the fact that seller has disappeared.  Paypal will hopefully refund you and they will know where he is and pursue him!
