Can ebay help me?
The big question has to be was it the eBay seller giving the warranty or the manufacturer.
If it was the seller then if they are still trading you conta t them direct.
If it was the manufacturer you will need to speak to there customer service.
If you're looking to buy an item with a two year warranty which you can actually fall back on should you need to do so then eBay is not the place to be buying such items. If an item fails after the thirty days that eBay give you to open an Item Not As Described case you'll get no help from eBay whatsoever. Therefore, when it comes to buying items that are advertised as coming with a two year warranty - or perhaps, a warranty for a longer period of time - I'd suggest that you buy the item from a well-known retail outlet with hundreds of UK stores where you can actually see the item first-hand before you decide whether or not to pay for the item. At least that way you won't have the hassle of having to pay for the item before you've even seen it first-hand, not to mention the aggravation of having to open a case if it doesn't turn out to be as described in the listing. eBay does have its uses but it also has its limitations, and for items that are typically sold with a two or three year warranty I'd say that this is one area where the site is definitely at a disadvantage when compared to retail outlets that you can visit by driving into town and seeing the item first-hand in the store.
No. Warranties can only be offered by sellers and manufacturers, and Ebay is neither of those things - it is simply a platform on which sellers offer their wares, ie. an electronic version of your local shopping mall.
Ebay's 30-day Money Back Guarantee, along with PayPal's Buyer Protection, can legally only cover items which you can see are damaged, faulty or not as described on receipt. Ebay and PayPal (or any payment processor) cannot possibly assist with warranties or with items which you report as problematic further down the line, as they can have no idea who is at fault - you for misusing the item, or the seller for supplying substandard goods. Only a judge can make such a decision.
But Ebay's MBG and PayPal's Buyer Protection are generous extras to your consumer rights - they don't replace them. If the seller is a Swedish business seller, go to your consumer help site to learn what to do. If the seller is not in Sweden, there is nothing you can do. That is a risk you take when buying goods from abroad.
unless you get a good seller who will deal with it, warrenties are`nt worth the paper their printed on. i`ve seen threads on here where people send stuff back under warrenty and never see it again! Waste of money.
ebay won't help you, they don't get involved in warranty issues
