I have not received my refund after returning items to seller

I returned my items to the seller after being asked to do so as they were defective.

That was nearly 2 weeks ago and I have heard nothing since. The seller does not answer my emails.

Did you not Return through an EBay Item Not As Described Case? If you have Tracking and are within 30 days of Delivery. Open the Returns Case and add your Tracking Number. Escalate the Case to EBay after 3 Business Days.

No I posted them back to the seller as soon as he requested using Royal Mail and not tracked.
Have I lost my case before it's even started ?

There is nothing you can do without a tracking number or delivery code proving delivery or attempted delivery back to the seller. If this was returned as a parcel and not Large Letter, check your Proof of Posting receipt for a delivery code. Not a tracking number as such, but it's accepted by Ebay and PayPal in the same way. Key the number into Royal Mail's website to see what it says. If it proves delivery, open a Not As Described case, and enter the number into it. Do not open a return request as you have nothing to return.

So you know what to do in future, which is to use the tools that Ebay supplies rather than go down the DIY route, read the Money Back Guarantee. It's on every listing, in various other places across the site, and on your order confirmation.

Thank you for your advice for the future.
I have not had to return any items in the past and I foolishly followed the seller’s instructions.
He told me to post the items back to him using the envelope he had sent them in cutting out the panel with his address on. So I did just that.

I now think I fell for a little trick of his and it certainly would have been the right thing to use the official ebay system. I also failed to read the seller’s feedback list, he has a lot of negative comments about not refunding for faulty items.

A lesson learned for the future maybe as he is refusing to even acknowledge any of my emails and I will not be getting my refund I fear.
