How long does it take for Ebay to give you a refund when Seller has cancelled purchase ?

Hi  I purchased a set of 3 kitchen electrical items to be told " they were lost at Couriers"   I requested a refund last week but as yet I've received nothing in my bank account. Been in touch with Seller and they say all they do is press  " refund " and then its in the hands of Ebay . Appreciate any help - thanks

*Did you open an Item Not received case...? If so, has it closed with you having been refunded...? If so, you will have received a refund confirmation email from Ebay, and the transaction will be marked as refunded on your Purchase History page. Card refunds are not instant and go back to source. If you paid with a debit card, it will take up to 7 days to clear into your bank account. If you paid with a credit card, it can take up to 30 days to appear on your cc statement. These are the banking industry norms, and nothing to do with Ebay (or PayPal).

*If you didn't open a case...

Ebay provides clear instructions on what to do when an item is not received or arrives not as described, and in various places so that they can't be missed:

The 30-day Money Back Guarantee (on every listing and in various other places across the site).

The More Actions dropdown beside the transaction on your Purchase History page.

The Resolution Centre (link at foot of any page).

The Help pages with their integral search (links at top and foot of any page).

Just read and follow instructions to open an Item Not Received case in order to get a full refund.

If you've run out of time to open an Ebay case (you have 30 days from the delivery estimate on the order), open one in PayPal, where you have 180 days from purchase date.

@janann_09

You don't "I requested a refund last week". You open a NOT RECEIVED CASE, it is then up to the seller to refund through the case.

Refunds go back to source, Paypal instant, Debit Card to Bank 7 days, Credit Card 3o days.

You can tell if a refund has been started by the Paid Symbol £ will have changed to the Refunded Symbol, if it hasn't then after 8 days you escalate to ebay.

If you have not opened a case then do it now, that is the only way that if it is necessary you can ask ebay to step in by escalating.

By the way, refunds come from Paypal, ebay does not handle the money or payments (at least not at the moment).

Look in MORE ACTIONS and you will find a suitable link.
