Chinese selers

Am sick and tired of Chinese sellers on ebay. The ebay site is swamped with Chinese sellers. Every time I want to buy something they swamp the sites I look on. Why does ebay allow it. I live in the UK and I want to see UK only. When I choose UK only it still comes up with china using London addresses. Why aren't you monitoring the ebay sites better. I refuse to buy from them. Not only is it tat but the way china is conducting itself in the world I will never buy from them. Sick of ebay pandering to the chinese economy.

If you buy from a UK seller where do you think 95% of the stock will have been made ?  Ifyou want to avoid the Chinese economy then you had better stop buying most things......your smart TV, internet router, washing machine, kettle, dishwasher, computer, iPhone, iPad, Android tablet, toaster etc will all be made in China or have Chinese components

• You cannot search for sellers located in the UK......you can only search based on where the item is listed as being located...

• With overseas registered sellers this is quite possible as many have UK warehousing or distribution points....

• Business sellers must display their registration details at the bottom of each listing......

• Where an item is being sold by an overseas registered business seller then ALWAYS CHECK THE DELIVERY ESTIMATE (this is actually true even with UK registered sellers as an increasing number drop ship from overseas locations) .....if more than 5 days then there is a pretty good chance it is being shipped from overseas

• The only issue is where a seller misrepresents the location of an item......which may in some cases result in import charges/duty & VAT being charged.......in that case you can report it to eBay......the other possibility is an item being delivered after the specified delivery window.....in these cases you must open a not received case immediately......escalate after 8 days & if not delivered you will be refunded. You may end up with the item for free in this case as if delivered after refund it is unlikely the overseas seller will want to pay the shipping charges to return the item to them

• If ultimately the item comes from overseas then you may find this useful : https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-policies/item-location-misrepresentation-policy?id=4244

you do realise that most items sold in the UK were manufactured in China, as the UK doesn't make anything any more!

the search criteria is for ITEM location

you cannot search for seller location

sellers who have a UK distribution point can state UK as the item location as the item is sent there first and then to the buyer

if you wish to avoid buying from these sellers you need to check the seller location before you buy,

to see the seller location go to their feedback profile page by clicking on the number in breackets next to their ID,

you should be looking at a sellers feedback profile before you buy anything, as that is what feedback is for, to be read before purchase so that you can decide whether you want to buy from that person.

if an item location is stated as UK and the item is sent directly to you, without going to the UK distribution point, you can report the seller for item location misrepresentation:-

I want to see UK only.

EBay's advanced search enables you to exclude items not located in the UK, but not sellers not located in the UK.

Many sellers in China have a distribution base in the UK. If you don't want to buy from them, often the only way to discover their country of registration is to view the seller's feedback page.

Keep in mind that even if you only buy from sellers in the UK, whether online or in the shops, a huge proportion of manufactured goods are made in China anyway.
