I had the pop up, saw ‘ eBay’ and ‘ai’ mentioned in the same sentence and ignored immediately..

A long tool for pushing canal boats immediately came to mind.

eBay.ai is here to assist you with quick, helpful, and friendly responses. If you have enabled this feature, eBay.ai may suggest a response gathering details from the item listing or order details.
eBay.ai will not answer all questions. It is only available when it can deliver relevant, accurate answers, and avoids questions about pricing or offers. You will have the ability to review and edit responses before they are sent to buyers.
eBay.ai is experimental and may suggest inaccurate or inappropriate responses. We’re using third-party generative AI models to provide this service. Authorized eBay personnel may access the messages you provide to resolve incidents, recover data, moderate content, and respond to feedback. Please don’t share information you don’t want them to access. Please check our Privacy Notice.
I'll give it a miss. Particularly after reading the last paragraph.

Interesting, thanks for posting that link.
I must admit, I liked this comment that someone made over there: "Nothing says "good customer service" like an AI-generated response to a buyer's message."
Also, as they mention a lot in that forum, I can imagine eBay AI coming up with loads of "Hi's" and "Hey's" 🙄
If the wording comes out like the titles of sales notifications, etc. that we get to our email addresses (ie: speaking to us like we're kids), then it's definitely a big no-no! 😒

Were still trying to remove ancient and out of date messages Showing in the listing Q&A section from decades ago

A few days ago I made a offer on a business account item. There was no reply as so often happens on eBay.
I then messaged the seller but got an Ai message to say the seller would get back to me soon. After a day I got another AI message the seller will get back to me. Some days have gone by and nothing. I've given up trying to buy anything from eBay. I have none of this on Vinted. Sellers are quick to reply and answer Offers are responded to very quickly as the site is setup to to get sales.
