Simple Delivery for Business

Apologies if this is well known but I spotted today that Simple Delivery has been added to Postage Preferences on my Business account - see screenshot. The edit option is only to deselect EVRI or Royal Mail. Are others seeing it or have I been selected?

SD is not appearing as an option when I do a listing but looks as though as it could be imminent.

I can't understand ebay using the most unreliable courier in Evri when simple delivery offers guarantees against losses. It doesn't make any financial sense. It also won't do anything for customer satisfaction.

I think the mistake you're making here is trying to understand why eBay make decisions that make no sense.

Well stated @scarlets247 - I think a lot of us feel this way. eBay are not listening to us, and are just steam rolling ahead with their ideas in desperation to keep taking more and more slices of the pie, and we simply can't take anymore. I also say this as somebody who has been using eBay daily for over 20 years.

Simple Delivery must be made optional; many of us (myself included) have our own systems in place. eBay is supposed to be a platform for sellers (both private and business), not trying to take over every aspect from us. It's a huge overreach that along with all these other rapid and constant changes, is liable to harm the 'platform' and alienate sellers.

100% agree with @scarlets247 & @amphibolous comments

95% of my domestic post goes as standard letter in a 16cmx11cm envelope under a contract with Royal Mail. If Ebay think that I am going to let "Simple Disaster sorry Delivery" anywhere near it they can forget it.

Ebay may not care about their reputation or mine but I do. There are several specialist physical auctions that I could use. At the moment I prefer Ebay because if gives me more control & I have easier access to my Overseas buyers.

Steamroller through compulsary Simple Disaster as currently configured & its goodbye from me. The absolute minimium with SD would be a one time opt out - not the current opt out on every separate listing. Alternatively an ability to opt out of selling to UK addresses would be acceptable.

By the way I am also a 20year seller.

Every user with seller hub has those seller announcements. They link to all the announcements on the community board.  They are for informational purposes.

Hi All,

You may have already noticed but the simple delivery postage preferences should no longer be showing on the postage preferences page for business sellers. As mentioned previously this option is only for private sellers.

Can you please confirm that to the best of your knowledge the simple delivery will not be enforced onto Business sellers? I would be pretty confident if that was to be the case then it will drive a hugh amount of people away from eBay.

We are not aware of any changes to introduce simple delivery to business sellers.  It is currently an option for private sellers.

Just relisted an item and the postage default was simple delivery, this is the first time this has happened, I had to manually change it back to custom delivery.

This is clearly going to be forced onto business sellers at some point.
