Was advised by eBay it would be resolved Monday (today), but just tried to drop off ~20 packages and had them all rejected at the Post Office, really frustrating.
Spoke to Royal Mail and they said it was a big IT issue and may not be resolved until Wednesday. Advised me not to use a post box. Told me to arrange a click and drop collection, but not sure how that will help if the items are not scanning.
I'm now in a position where I can either (i) delay dispatching things by 24hrs and arrange a collection tomorrow, which I can't understand how it will work when they're advising not to send things yet, or (ii) will have to switch to untracked or Evri today.

Confirmed, successfully dropped them off at one of those Quadient parcel drop off lockers … issue seems to be specific to Post Offices. Thanks for the tip.
Whether they track, or get posted, that’s another thing … frustratingly no email confirmation for ~15 packages 15mins after dropping off

Hi,I'm the same posted 20 items yesterday and no receipts but they do say dispatched on ebay, its whether they get scanned in at depot or not? Got another 20 to post this morning, are ebay gonna remove defects on our accounts if we delay posting because that's what will happen if we don't post within our dispatch timetables. I don't want to use another courier as some of my buyers specifically want Royal Mail because they don't like Evri.

Anyone know if it's just T48 affected, or is it T24 too?

Its tracked 48 that had TQ at the start of the tracking number.

The PO couldn't scan my T48 parcels today, but they accepted them on the understanding that I wouldn't get a PoP.
The RM tracking states that the parcel are 'expected' rather than 'received' but hopefully that will change when they get a scan at the MC.

UPDATE: All Tracked48 YA posted today (Monday Aug 4) at one of royal mails postal lockers still not tracking 6hrs after being collected by RM. No post office involvement but still not tracking internally. Only saving grace is having the email proof of deliveries from the locker.

Mine didn't scan today but the lady accepted it and wrote the tracking number on the receipt. I hope it starts tracking eventually.
The other weird thing is that all my previous labels booked direct with Royal Mail start with TQ. This one started with YA and the lady thought it was an ebay label, which it wasn't.

Same with my RM Tracked labels 48 today, the post office said they couldn't scan them. I phoned RM this afternoon and the customer service agent said it was not a RM fault but a Post Office fault but the PO are unlikely to own up to it. The PO took my parcels anyhow and said they should still be delivered ok but the tracking is unlikely to be updated. Hope they're right but it leaves it wide open for buyers to claim they didn't receive their order.

I was told at the PO today that it is a problem with the PO system and it is being looked at but they hadn't been given an estimated timescale for it being fixed. Luckily mine was a T24 which isn't affected.

All my T48 despatched yesterday have been scanned at the Mail Centre and the tracking has been updated.

The parcels which the post office were unable to scan yesterday are now showing updated tracking information on ebay but when I go to tracking on the Royal Mail app it doesn't recognize the tracking number. All of my ebay shipping labels had the strange YA tracking number rather than the usual TQ.

Hi All,
The issue with the track48 YA labels has been resolved. The Royal Mail systems are now accepting the parcels so you should be able to send them through the Post Office. If you were unable to send your parcels and new labels were purchased the original labels can be voided.
For Simple Delivery, the buyer purchased labels will automatically be refunded to the buyer within 30-40 days. For seller paid labels a refund request can be submitted through the webform within 14 days from the order date.
For non Simple Delivery eBay labels, they can be voided within 14 days by going to postage labels on your account.
There will be automated protections in place for impacted sellers for late shipment and INR service metrics.
Thank you,
Kat

Post office accepting Tracked48 today, cashier told me it was resolved at 5:30 yesterday.
I’m wondering what people are finding with the parcels they dropped off during that ‘not working’ period. Personally mine were dropped off at a Royal Mail locker and still are not showing tracking information, even though I thought the issue was just with the PO. Tad concerning as to whether (1) they are even making their way through the system or (2) they will show tracked and delivered upon delivery or whether I’ll be open to buyer fraud

I don't use the Post Office, instead I drop my parcels off at a parcel box outside my local delivery office. Two Tracked 48 parcels have gone missing over the last couple of weeks with no scans and I've just learned that a 2nd Class large letter hasn't arrived either, which was posted at a separate postbox. I can't claim full compensation on the two parcels because I don't have proof of postage for them. I hadn't foreseen there being a problem in the several metres it takes for these items to be collected from the parcel box and carried into the delivery office! I'm hoping I can at least get some compensation for the postage.
I don't believe the narrative that it's all the Post Office's fault. I've very rarely had any issues with non deliveries (maybe 2 or 3 a year?) and suddenly I've had 3 in the space of a couple of weeks.
