I've just dropped off some parcels at my Morrisons local and they have been told by their Yodel collection driver that they can't accept large parcels any more
I asked her to explain how big a larger parcel was and she said that one that was like a large shoe box was about as big as they could take.
I asked her to find out the dimensions of the largest they could accept and where it come from.
Apparently it is the manager at the Yodel depot that has fed it downstream through the collection driver, as they are complaining they can't make any money out of it (welcome to the club)
She said that we should be told that we could still use Yodel, but we have to sort a collection instead and shouldn't be more than about a fiver a time to have them collected.
Had an issue last week where they were told me no more than 2 large parcels a day, but they didn't know if that was 2 total for the shop or 2 per customer. They are now saying no large parcels at all??
This is when we are buying labels through Packlink integrated into eBay.
Anyone else has this issue yet?

Our conclusion from this is to sadly not use Yodel anymore.

My thoughts entirely!

I wish I had discovered this post earlier, ive just tried 4 stores today and they say same thing , Yodel drivers wont accept large parcels. Today I tried on the Yodel site and if you enter a quotation for the store to door service (which is same service purchased with selling an item yesterday 15 Aug of eBay) they will not deliver parcels off 110 cm in size with this service (or it seems over 66cm in height) . I entered the size of the item on ebay for the original quote.
There doesnt seems to be any immediate help from eBay (on purchasing postage) and i cant believe after reading this chain of mails since jan 24, theyre still selling this service (on ebay) when yodel store to door online says they dont accept parcels over sized (suitcase size selection) . or anything over 66cm it seems)
So ive had to purchase another service seperately and will be contacting eBay directly as the postage (and insurance) I bought is now useless , hence mis sold;

It's not limited to 66cm ....ive had 62cm 51cm and 43cm refused to be taken .All this information was given along with photos and store assistants names to Yodels executive team who supposedly spoke to the store's and all the drivers .
However 2 weeks later I had a 56cm x 12cm x 10xm parcel refused again because the store manager said the drivers will not take it .
I'm now using Evri all the time ...No issues at all up to now .

I experienced the same issue last week, where my parcel was refused by 2 different stores because it was 'too large and so the delivery people won't take it'. This was in Hertfordshire so clearly, from reading this thread, this is a nationwide issue anita@ebay. And sadly I have another parcel where I selected Yodel as the delivery provider. My solution last week, after contacting Ebay and Yodel customer service, was to cancel the postage with Yodel (which has been refunded) and then purchase another delivery label. If you do this put in the exact dimensions otherwise you'll get some eye watering quotes!
As previous posters have said the best option to save yourself time and money is to completely avoid Yodel!
@ebay please update us on your efforts to sort this out. This has been ongoing for 8+ months and with your huge buying power you must be able to put pressure on Yodel and stop listing them as a delivery option whilst they refuse to fulfil their contract?!

Hello.
I have taken a large parcel to my near store and they are NOT collecting a large parcel.
My parcel have a 1.10cm×20cm× 6cm and weight about 1kg.
I have got the post through eBay and now what to do?
Thank you for your help.

It’s 7 months later and eBay still haven’t updated the advertised 120cm parcel length limit for Yodel, so I fell into the same trap and after multiple rejections at yodel drop offs changed to evri (but the drop off store told me that some evri drivers reject larger parcels as well, so hope it gets to the buyer)

Since changing to use Evri instead of the poor Yodel. Ive sent 43 parcels all have been collected or accepted at a parcel shop and all have been delivered without issues .
More people need to stop using Yodel and make it known to yodels executive complaints department why .
Something may eventually get done .

Do you mean as a seller?
once the label is voided the cost will be refunded to you, may take a couple of days though.
the Evri labels are usually between 50p - £1 more depending on the size and weight.

Yes I am the seller trying to send an item. But the only option I can find is the nut postage 3 times the price.

I'm afraid this problem is on-going. Our local drop off point is a Morrisons local, and they won't accept parcels that are over 60cm, or over 10Kg and have an official printed sign advising this. It doesn't matter what Packlink says we can ship size/weight wise, you actually can't because the Yodel drivers refuse to take them.

I work in a supermarket that takes Yodel, the max parcel size we take is 60 x 50 x 50, and when we have more than 4 a day of big parcels we have to refuse to take any more big ones due to health and safety of where to store them. The size guide came down from Yodel. We have every right to refuse parcels that are too big, too heavy or we do not have the room to store safely. Also we have the right to refuse parcels once the bag or bags are full up, due to health and safety again. Many customers from ebay are buying labels for 60 x 50 x50 but are trying to send much bigger parcels than this, we then get told off by Yodel for accepting them. Hope this clears up things.

Hi there
I don't think the issue is against the staff in the drop off points, it's relating to the confusion of eBay/Packlink showing that sellers can send larger parcels through Yodel, when that isn't the case. Packlink also say to sellers that 'we have an agreement with Yodel' to send parcels up to 120cm. That's what's causing the issue for sellers.
Totally agree that if you're getting told one thing by Yodel then it makes sense you can refuse them. Packlink and eBay need to get their act together and correct what they tell sellers! And yes, some people will always try to under declare parcel sizes and weights, in my opinion Yodel should accept those parcels and then charge the sender an exorbitant amount to either deliver them or they'll destroy the parcel - or donate it to a charity 🙄

Totally agree, It really shows Ebay do not want to resolve problems. Ebay sell us the option to take these parcels to the stores, we waste our time cancelling the booking re booking and the additional travelling. How do we recover these costs? Ebay have known about this problem for over a year and still new people are wasting their time and continue push these delivery services.

If your store has a policy to only accept 60x50x50 that’s totally fair and their prerogative. Especially if it would be unsafe otherwise.
But there is certainly some confusion even in the yodel executive team about this policy (trust me I’ve spoken with them). If you ship directly with yodel (from their website) then indeed this is the largest you can send.
However If you pay for your label using eBay or any other agent, parcel2go is another example of somewhere you can buy labels for Yodel that are larger than these size limits. Then most stores should be taking them, I had this confirmed by Yodel directly after it was escalated up the chain. Thankfully I now have 3 local drop off points and one of them takes parcels up to 120cm without issue (proving it can absolutely be done) I was told by a member of staff that they were given a weight constraint of 15 kg and told about the 120cm rule and that was it.
