I've just dropped off some parcels at my Morrisons local and they have been told by their Yodel collection driver that they can't accept large parcels any more
I asked her to explain how big a larger parcel was and she said that one that was like a large shoe box was about as big as they could take.
I asked her to find out the dimensions of the largest they could accept and where it come from.
Apparently it is the manager at the Yodel depot that has fed it downstream through the collection driver, as they are complaining they can't make any money out of it (welcome to the club)
She said that we should be told that we could still use Yodel, but we have to sort a collection instead and shouldn't be more than about a fiver a time to have them collected.
Had an issue last week where they were told me no more than 2 large parcels a day, but they didn't know if that was 2 total for the shop or 2 per customer. They are now saying no large parcels at all??
This is when we are buying labels through Packlink integrated into eBay.
Anyone else has this issue yet?

I have also had the same issue today - selected the size and weight using the eBay tool, printed the label and found the closest drop-off store and they refused to take the parcel saying it was too big. I contacted Yodel and they were very unhelpful and asked me to contact eBay.

Hello all,
Just wanted to let you know that we have been monitoring this thread and appreciate all the examples shared. The stores/drivers should accept the parcels, so it has been raised to the relevant teams once again, and they are currently investigating it to get this resolved.
Please continue sharing examples and I'll make sure to pass them on.
Thank you,
Anita

I also had this issue .I tried yodel chat ...didn't want to know said contact retailer ? I emailed the c.e.o yodel got this reply
Good Afternoon Graeme,
Thank you for your response and for providing the requested information.
I can confirm that I have raised this matter with the Store Management Team to speak to both stores and to ensure that they are able to accept parcels within the dimensions required. We will also ensure that the drivers are spoken to to prevent future reoccurrences of this nature.
We appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to our attention; it will enhance us in refining our services going forward. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Siyamthanda

Hi all,
I received an update today, that all Yodel stores have been informed about the correct parcel dimensions, so that's great news, and hopefully we will see an improvement in parcels being accepted.
Hope this helps, and should you experience any further issues, please let me know.
Thank you,
Anita

Thank you for following this up. I believe they already knew about the correct sizes – the shop that refused my parcel said that the delivery centres had been telling all drivers to refuse large parcels in order to keep on top of workload (they feel large parcels aren't worth their time). I hope that if they feel they risk losing eBay business, they will behave better. I've now started booking my postage off eBay, via DPD, who collect from my door and are cheaper – I recommend.

Hi Anita
Appreciate the efforts by the team to get this sorted, but I'm sad to say that my 2 local yodel drop off points in Midsomer Norton are still refusing and now blaming collect+ for not being able to take them, saying they have been specifically told that they shouldn't take them.
One still has a sign up saying 50 x 50 x 60 maximum. With a screenshot of the regular yodel direct website (which we all know isn't relivent, to the services offered by eBay/Packlink)
Seems like a pointless Battle, it's almost as if couriers don't want to courier anything!!!

Tried to send a parcel above Yodel's own max dimensions of 60cm but under that of eBay's 120cm and of all the stores I tried, including Morrisons, none would take it. Will eBay refund me so I can try another courier? One shop did suggest coming when the van arrives to collect just in case, but no guarantee.

Hi, im having the same issue with a parcel 68x30x10 cm. The yodel store stays the drivers one take it so i need to organize and pay for a home delivery.
I purchased the label via ebay and seleted the large suitcase size option. Please advise

Hi, having the same issue. How do i get my yodel label refunded as they are refusing to take my 68x30x10 package. Ebay please either pull your business from yodel or update the package labels you sell.

Spoke to eBay. You can cancel if the label hasn't been scanned in store yet. While they were giving instructions based on the full website rather than app, the process is similar. Orders, postage labels, click on the Yodel and cancel label. It worked for me and Packlink are currently processing my refund. The app was pretty poor at identifying an alternative, but if you ignore the size of parcel options, I found Evri under a different option still goes to 120cm in length. So bought that and parcel now en route. However, the other parcel I sent with Yodel is currently stuck somewhere at a depot, which doesn't bode well. Why I normally stick with Royal Mail if possible.

I had a yodel parcel refused by 3 stores yesterday as 65 cm eventhough I'd purchased 120 cm size parcel.
Ebay need to sort this issue or remove yodel up to 120cm option from postage.
I repacked/boxed parcel to under 60cm and it was accepted!! Total waste of my time.

Even though Yodel have supposedly spoke to the drop off points and all the drivers .They are still refusing to accept anything much bigger than a shoe box .
And that goes for home collection too .
The driver turned up and said that's too big I can't take it .When I pointed out it wasn't and showed him the email from Yodel he then said I can't get it in I will have to come back... Needless to say I got it on and there were plenty more room .
I will just avoid Yodel all together going forward and use alternatives.

Hello Anita - can't seem to send a private message?
The 3 stores that refused my parcel were
Morrisons Daily
6 Market Square, Sandy, Bedfordshire, SG19 1HU193 Goldington Road, Bedford, Bedfordshire, MK40 3EG they showed me a printed screen shot of yodel website stating 60x 50 x 50cm

I'm also experiencing same issues.

Hi Anita,
Thank you for contiuning to look in to the this. We keep having the same problem with collections from the Hayes depot. The shop staff are very nice but they keep getting told from the driver that they can't accept parcels. I have relayed the information to the shop staff re the eBay size guide, but it is clearly coming from the Hayes depot. Frustrated as parcels have been delayed and it is a worry if parcels will arrive. Taken to going via Parcel Force directly who offer good prices via their own marketplace integration!

Update on this, I have receive a tracking event from eBay stating that the parcel wasn't ready and could not be picked up as a result. I have a drop off receipt and email confirmation of it being scanned. Please advise.

I've had the same issue today from Asda Service Station, Skircoat Road, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX1 2JN. Said Yodel will not accept parcels above 16 inches, which is ridiculous. Why are eBay still having anything to do with these clowns? When I asked if this was the Yodel policy, and why are they accepting orders & payment for items above this on ebay he said it was the drivers refusing to collect them. When pressed further he then said they - meaning Asda - don't have room in the store. What a shambles. In the meantime my customer is waiting for the item they have paid for and I am wishing I had just kept it or sold it elsewhere 😞 Really frustrated and angry.

This has all been going on just too long now, I've had the store blame, eBay, (& Vinted), yodel the company, yodel drivers and collect+
but none of that matters when you have bought and paid for a service!
seriously eBay get on top of this, especially if the rumors of buyers being able to select and pre pay for courier services actually happens going forward! I've had to turn off yodel on other marketplaces for this reason.

It's not ebay it's Yodel or more so the drivers that do yodels bidding .They are refusing to take anything larger than a shoe box and these drivers are telling the drop off shops not to accept because they will not take them.
This is despite Yodel ringing the drop off shops that wouldn't take my parcels and supposedly speaking to the drivers .
Is it any wonder they have such a bad reputation and are heading towards administration .

Oh I know it's not eBay's fault I've been dealing with this for months, but it's up to eBay to pull the plug at this point, or at least put some serious pressure on them. Since yodel is not honouring the contract they presumably have in place to accept parcels larger than those typically accepted by yodel.
