Hi,
Please be aware that you may have defect for a cancelled transaction from this weekend which you didn't cancelled. Looks like there is some ebay glitch which caused that some orders were cancelled by the system, so you not only loose money (if you shipped the order like in our case), but you will also get a defects.
Please see below, we are 100% sure that we never cancelled this order, also spoke with buyer and they never requested the cancellation, furthermore order wasn't cancelled in our RM C&D, so it was shipped and delivered to the buyer today.
We only find out because the buyer called us asking why we cancelled the transaction and ship the stock for free, asking us how on earth we will make a profit and why we cancelled, when WE NEVER CANCELLED THE TRANSACTION and apparently it was some ebay glitch.
I contacted ebay asking for a refund and for the defects to be removed, so hopefully they will - BUT PLEASE CHECK YOUR ACCOUNTS, IF YOU HAVE SAME DEFECT, IT COULD BE DOWN TO THAT EBAY GLITCH !!!
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi All,
We recently identified an issue with a limited number of transactions that is now resolved. Impacted orders will be covered by eBay’s money back guarantee, and no seller performance rating will be affected.
Customer Support will be able to check the transactions and answer any questions on what happens next if this was the cause.
Thanks,
Dave

Same happened to me - got item packaged over weekend and went to print ebay royal mail label on Monday, but the order had vanished - now I get an ebay cancelled defect.

Could it be something to do with whatever caused ebay to give wrong delivery addresses? Or perhaps what they're doing to fix that problem ?

Hi Dave, there are reports on the boards of buyers getting refunds and the items, and the sellers getting the payment recalled, so they have no item and no money, will this also be resolved centrally?

The thing that strikes me about this is:
- eBay noticed some faulty transactions - so faulty they needed to be cancelled at source, by eBay. (GOOD).
- eBay then cancelled them. (GOOD).
- eBay then took their default position that it was "all the seller's fault", and marked them all as "Seller cancelled transaction due to being out of stock". (BAD. APPALLING. UNFAIR.)
- eBay are not prepared to refund sellers where the items have been posted and the buyers have been refunded out of the seller's money (GROSSLY UNFAIR.)
Surely to goodness, if eBay choose deliberately to cancel transactions, for reasons totally outwith the seller's control, eBay should:
- pick up the tab for their own mistake.
- mark the items as "CANCELLED BY EBAY" rather than "CANCELLED BY SELLER DUE TO BEING OUT OF STOCK".
But they seem to be following their normal practice of "blame the seller", "make the seller bear the loss" and "tell the seller they should be grateful they're not getting their account marked as below standard for it".

Hi @papso22
Usually these sort of issues are processed in bulk so its possibly just happening in stages.
Ive asked for some clarification on how its being processed but in the meantime, the guys in Customer Support will be able to check any transactions to confirm they've been processed correctly.
Thanks,
Dave
