Is Upgrading to a Business Account Really Worth It?
I'm planning to start selling on eBay and am considering subscribing to a store plan. However, I want to make sure I fully understand the differences before making a decision.
From what I understand:
If my understanding is correct, then why would I upgrade to a business account and end up paying more for fewer free listings? Am I missing something?
Would love to hear insights from experienced sellers!

yes that thing with safety reg is just plain wrong for 2nd hand items & I found out you can't even sell to Northen I. Private sellers who do that run the risk of being told to upgrade or even prosecuted although not sure how that works if we're not in the EU. I think they'd leave ebay rather than upgrade. I have bought to sell things but sell elsewhere not on ebay. Some things such as tennis rackets would be actually cheaper to sell on a B account because of simple delivery on private.

I've not seen private sellers doing packaging supplies but I don't think they would get away with it for long.
I disagree. A private seller competitor arrived in the fabric category when free-for-all selling began. The listing has eight options, and each of these options has ten variations. Stock required to support that is 100s of metres, maybe 1000+.
The listing has been running for around a year. I have reported it twice, and haven't even had an email saying 'We found nothing wrong with it'.
'Cracking down on private sellers' is the eBay equivalent of 'Smashing the gangs'.
