How can I identify `buyers` wanting a reduction in a fixed selling price.

It would help me greatly if I could identify these supposed interest parties.

Reason being is that I guess most of the requesters are sellers of similar material.

Many a time I post a fixed price yet within minutes there is a request for a discount.

I just need to find A way to discover who these `bidders` are.

Please help as it would save a lot of admin time.

Are you looking for a way to save time replying to messages as if so you can add to your FAQ about discount and from what I saw at the open event it will automatically reply or at least pop up and answer it for you I believe.

Not on Fixed Priced items in the shop.   On auctions yes of course but really need to know who wants a discount for store items.

All I receive is a request for discount BUT not the person who requests it.

Why do you want to know who the person is? And if you do know, what are you looking to do?

It takes a lot of admin for starters but more importantly it could be another autograph dealer or `private`  assessing their own stock values without any interest in purchasing the item requested for discount.

Additionally if its a regular `nosey parker` or indeed `irritant` then we would know the position totally & block. 

We are in business - its a living - we pay tax etc and its important that we are `best price` about our stock.

We are happy to receive offers in the normal way via auction or shop as their Ebay identity would be known but not so happy for the customer to request a discount when his identity would be unknown.

The only way you can find out anything about a person interested when asking for a discount,  is when they send a message,  click on their highlighted ID,  see their feedback , and the items they are selling.

Would it be so bad to sell to another seller selling the same item?  If the discount is one you are happy to give, the price of the item is then one you are happy to accept a sale is still a sale whether they keep the autograph or try and sell it on themselves for more,  you still received the price at the time , you were happy to receive.

I do understand that asking for that discount they may well not wish to buy,  and as you describe, are just  'assessing their own stock values',  again this is something which would be nigh impossible to discern.

When you receive an offer on BIN you can see who it is from.

When eBay suggest to send an offer to a watcher or user who has looked at the item it is anonymous.

eBay can't legally give you any details other than what is publicly displayed in the user's profile unless a transaction is in place.

Well I think that is totally wrong.   You are therefore supporting a `shill` bidder in helping him to undercut other Sellers.

We`ve been on Ebay nigh on 30 years so I feel we do know our way around things honestly.

It isn't. eBay has to comply with data protection legislation such as the Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation. Would you really be happy for eBay to give your personal information out so easily?

I'm doing nothing of the sort.

I don't accept offers on BIN items; anyone making an offer or asking if we accept offers is politely told that we do not. If someone becomes a pest they are blocked and left unable to message any further due to our buyer requirements settings. I don't think I've ever had someone try to make another offer through another account after they have been blocked.

Well I don`t think you have the correct information.

For ALL our sales in the shop we tick the box `No Offers` - yet we receive countless requests for discounts.

Ebay should be even handed.   You allow customers to make an offer on AUCTION sales and we KNOW who the offerer is - yet on fixed priced items we cannot ascertain who the interested party is.
