Ebay posts my home address on every listing as public knowledge. Any way to stop this?

As I'm technically a business seller but not an actual business so the only address I have is my home address. As a business seller I have to legally have my business address as public knowledge on every listing to anyone who views any of my listings.
Is there any way to change this or remove this or even just have it as my town/city?
I tried contacting ebay customer services but they just kept saying if I want to sell with ebay I have to have it listed as public knowledge

It's a requirement of  consumer law that a  business has contact details available to buyers before they buy.

I think you can have a registered address for contact. i.e. A solicitors P.O.Box.

In honesty, I wouldn't worry about it. Only had 2 unwanted visitors from E-bay in 10 years, one was an astoundingly beautiful woman (twice as surprising considering what I sell), the other was a problem I have to admit. A guy returning items who stepped in to my house the second I opened the door. I bodily threw him back out again.

Blimey... even once in ten years is too much. I think you prove the OP point.  Imagine if you'd been an astoundingly beautiful woman...

You can only have a registered address, if your a Ltd or a partnership.

As a sole trader, you are able to have a trading address, but that will only work if you actually have premises!

I can honestly say though, I've not had anyone turn up in all the time I was using my home address.

These days however, I have premises anyway, so not such a big deal.

I don't how people can be so pushy though.  I'd have done the same with someone like that.  I suppose there are always the outsiders....

I've been quite uncomfortable about that too.  Fortunately I don't sell very expensive items which probably reduces the risk.  I don't have premises as such but I do rent a unit, does anyone know if it's legal to use that address as the visible one on eBay?  I haven't managed to find a clear answer to that when searching for info.
