Hi,
Does anybody knows if ebay removes Item Not Receive defects when I have proof of postage (item posted the same day, so within my 24 hour dispatch time advertised).
Item was a birithday card, it was sent Royal Mail 2nd class Letter (untracked)
The item arrived 2 days after the estimated delivery time.
The buyer closed the request.
This transaction still appears in my Item Not Received defects in my service metrics stats (after 2 weeks)
I wrongly believed if the buyer closed a request, the defect should have been removed automatically.
Thanks

It is my understanding that an INR is not allocated a defect unless Ebay have to step in and give a refund to the customer. If the buyer closed the INR then it's gone, that's that. Do you mean that it is still appearing on your late delivery stats?

My understanding is that once an INR is raised, it persists for a certain length of time (can't remember how long, 90 days or more, it depends on the number of transactions).
That is because the item wasn't received by the fantasy date that eBay set - it's later arrival doesn't eradicate that.
It was late. The acronym doesn't stand for 'Item Never Received' it stands for 'Item Not Received [on the date that eBay said it would arrive, and I'm really , really, disappointed, and it's non-arrival has completely ruined my life and made my little granddaughter cry because it was her birthday card]'.
An INR is a manifestation of the buyer's disappointment, it's all your fault, and you must be punished.

Hi chicpastels, thanks for your post.
If you mean that an item not received case that was filed can be removed, then that is not removable. However, if you mean a late delivery or a cancellation, then yes you can appeal those defects and if they qualify for removal, they will be removed. You can see more here.
I've just checked for you anyway just in case, and I see no defects on this account (well done🙂), so unless you're referring to a different account, you wouldn't have anything to be worried about. 👍
Thank you,
Marco
