DHL Ecommerce has been brought out by Evri

A few months ago I made the decision to leave DHL Ecommerce for anther provider simply because I need some services that DHL Ecommerce don't provide. Overall I have been happy with DHL. The percentage of stuff ups is small and the customer service is OK. Not great, but certainly OK. 

About 10 days ago I became aware through a friend in the industry and have since seen confirmed in the press that DHL ecommerce division will become "Evri Premium" Evri have brought them out. Probably with a lot of debt to service for the purchase.  

If you use DHL, keep an eye on it because Evri have an awful track record and I can't imagine Evri Premium will keep the reasonably high standards of DHL Ecommerce.  

If I hadn't already made the decision to leave DHL I would have started looking 10 days ago. 😄

I must be the exception to the norm here. I changed to EVRI from Royal Mail about 18 months back after Royal Mail lost a LOT of post, then stopped doing international sales for a few weeks and didn't tell anyone. EVRI has been like a breath of fresh air. I send maybe 5-10 parcels a day and they have been so utterly amazing in comparison to Royal Mail that I'm wondering why I didn't give them a chance from the start. Domestically and Internationally they wipe the floor with RM.

When I first started, I used Evri/Hermes.  And quite frankly it was the worst service I have ever used, the only plus side, that it was cheap.

They still don't have a great reputation, but they may have improved somewhat since then, though I've still had the odd run in with them for deliveries I've (not) received.

The problem is, that nowhere else does Letters.  Those that do, are all last leg RM to my knowledge.

But there is mention of letter post on this one, though it's not very clear.

It would be nice to see a separate service to RM that is useable.

Hopefully this merger will improve things, but only time will tell.
