Any Notice Product Research/Terapeak Not Working Correctly?

Has anyone noticed product research is not working correctly? started noticing start of this week that it is not accurate.

So, I can confirm it's working (I was using the US Product Research). Although, initially there were only a handful of sales, then over the course of 10 hours it slowly showed more and more sales for each day and now I think it's fully populated. So not sure if it's just a matter of time before you see listings in the UK Product Research page?

 

I did see a fe "Item removed" but strangely, also dates whre instead of month-day-year it just shows 2024!

Hi @custom-giftsuk ,

 

Following up from yesterday's chat on the US results showing for searches on the research tool. Can you let me know what browser you currently use when you do your searches and if possible, can you provide a screenshot of doing the search from Chrome showing the search bar within the screenshot?

Sure both Chrome & Edge give the same result. MS Edge is on the left, Chrome is on the right window. 
You'll also notice as I've stated before that when you do a search with an ITM number it tells you that there are no sales for that item and defaults to $.

Also just as an update, several of my items are showing as no sales and the ones that do show sales are not corresponding with actual sales numbers so there is that ongoing issue.

Just a question on your screenshot, but have you been able to search using a listing auction ID? I didn't think that was possible and only text search strings were possible. Or have I misunderstood?

Yes you can search with an ITM number. Always have been able to.  You can see from my previous message with edge & chrome side by side that it shows the correct item for that ITM number - just it is in $ and states no sales, when in fact if you search via the listing title you get all the data, as shown on this screenshot (data blurred out to protect the seller) which has sales over the last week.

So something is amiss.

That's interesting - as far as I've been using it (around 3 years) the research page on the US site has never allowed one to search sold items just with a specific item. Would be handy if you could rather than have to paste the whole title string and play around with it to get results. 

 

Maybe that's what's happening with the UK site - they're removing the ability to just search with an item number

You can still search with an ITM number on the UK site. It brings up the item as normal, it just reports no sales and that it is in $. It also remains on the .co.uk site not the .com site.

Yeah I just tried it on the UK site and see what you see. On the US site it just returns "No sold results found for [itemnumber]"

Reported this with screenshots 2 weeks ago to concierge, was promised an update within 48 hours. Still nothing. How can ebay let something this major this happen at this time of year and do basically nothing? Not even an announcement to let your sellers know what's going on? Wait... what am I saying? This happens every year now.

I noticed several of my listings had stopped reporting sales (there were sales... just not showing on research products)
I reported this , was told it would be fixed as a matter of urgency.
Then it went down completely.
Came back up and was told it was fixed.
It wasn't. It was just fixed to back when I first reported it. 
Ironically they are still pushing the Research Products on the October Selling Update.

So a timeline

It worked > it became flaky and started missing out data > eBay started pushing the Product Research section > it fell down completely > it came back online and it was still flaky and missing out data > eBay said it's "fixed" > still flaky and missing out data. 

Ironically showing screenshots and providing proof of the errors just are met with silence.

So now I cant trust any data from the Research Product section as I know some of my listings are missing when they have had sales so it probably is like that for a lot of other sellers, so now data cant be trusted for anything so you dont have a metric to measure your items against other sellers. The data I can see for other sellers is way off from normal base line levels so I know something is iffy

yes i have the same issue, my products do not seem to be showing in the past few days research, i have also noticed that the 06th of November there is a large drop in the total sold, like less than a third from the 7th.
