A Small Sunday Post

One purchase I had not got round to posting, plus framed a couple of bits.

Picked up this massive signed 12x16 inch photo of Dave Bassett from his Wimbledon days for 99p plus £1.75 postage from one of the EPS sellers over Christmas. Dave gets a lot of flack from many Watford supporters, but I always liked him, and felt he was never given a chance by both players and some members of the club staff when he took over from GT after GT's main golden era. I already have a Watford card signed by him, but liked this pic.

Also framed a couple of bits - the Dietmar Hamann Doig print from Christmas, and our 2009 reply from Rik Mayall (a favourite for both Kelly and I).

Re: A Small Sunday Post

nice pick up Nigel, I'm always put off purchasing photos that big as I just wouldn't know what to do with them (don't have room on the walls)

Nice frame jobs too, love the Rik Mayall piece

Re: A Small Sunday Post

#2 - Greg. I am also put off buying pics that size, and in this case forgot to check, just assumed it was an 8x10. 🙂 I have some large signed items already stored flat in large envelopes and a box, so have added it to those for now.

#3 - Alex. I am pleased with the Hamann Doig signed by both, and think it looks great framed - much better than in a poster tube. 🙂

Great items. Also liked Dave Bassett. Always, and still does, spoke his mind. Was a great manager, in  my opinion. Well done.

Re: A Small Sunday Post

pmsl...... I love that Rik Mayal frame mate. Brilliant:)

Alex and i met Dave bassett in Preston, and he sat at my table for the dinner. He was a really nice chap to chat to from what i remember. ~Too many drinks that night ~lol:) There was him , Peter bonnetti and a very very drunk John Bailey:) Who i'm afraid was very loud and rude and did not make the pudding course lol:)

Great work you done there mate, well done:)

Re: A Small Sunday Post

Dave Bassett was in an almost impossible position after what GT did for Watford and it's a pity he didn't get the chance he deserved. I really like the framed pieces especially Rik Mayall.
