*The Nags head healthy eating group*

This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

:D:D:D:D

Hi everybody,

Well you'll never guess what, forced myself to go to WI tonight to face up the music and get my butt back into gear, I was expecting a gain of about 1-2 pounds maybe more, but I lost 3 ½ pounds!!!!!!!!!!:-):-):-) Not only that but I have lost my first stone after 6 weeks!! :D:D:D:D

I was sure after eating out almost every night last week, no tracking, overindulging on everything in sight and having pizza twice in one week 😮 that I would put on weight. This has given me a real boost and I know not to overdo it and continue eating like that or next week I will put on so and I am going to make a huge effort this week to stay on track. :D:D:D

Hope all your WI results are good this week, just had to share my great news! :D:D:D

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

I went to SW last night and - despite pigging out all week on cider and crisps - managed to stay the same! Well pleased.

Going to be mega good this week so it doesn't catch up with me or anything.

LOL, I have got right mixed up this morning, was so excited to see dark angel lose so much, I got in a pickle lol, maybe I had a preminition as that is fantastic news for you too Jay.
Bet you are sooo glad you went now?
See, it's not always as bad as we think lol.
Just think, if you hadn't gone (& thought you had put on anyway), you may well be continuing your munching on a higher rate!
Keep up the good work & it will be off in no time!

Well done (((jay)))
Chuffed you went!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

They have a competition this week - who can eat the most speed foods in one week. The record at the moment is 70.

Thing is, I've lost my book so will have to keep checking the website. Oops.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Lost a lb this week! Strange cos the scales at home have stayed the same! Ho hum! Now for the dilema - do I stick with the ordinary plan or should I start the revised Ivvie plan?

Hubby (the Dr) worked out a "better" plan - ready for this - 18 points, 11 points, 11 points, 25 points, 25 points, 25 points, 11 points. On the 18 and 11 point days to do my arm toning exercises and at least 20 mins hard riding on the exercise bike. On the 25 point days only arm toning. The idea being that you fool your body into thinking it will be getting lots of food so it burns the calories and then you cut it right down again so that it doesn't get used to too much food again!

So, should I give it a go? ?:|

Sorry to be a pain but does anyone have a list of speed foods or super speed foods for SW? I can't find any online and my book's missing (sob).

Thanks,

Jay

Good luck in finding it!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Now you have no excuse lol

I can't believe what I did today (oooop's).
Took da kiddies to get their portraits done, along with my friend & her daughter.
Came out & her daughter fancied a McD's so arm twisted behind my back (lol) the car suddenly veered right into the Mcd's car park!
I was going to get a big mac meal (bad enough) but my friend (thanks Angi) convinced me (under duress) to have a Big tasty meal! Looked better with all that salad in it etc! WRONG!!!!
ONLY after I had forced it down (pmsl) did I spot a calorie count list for the whole choice of foods on offer lol.
I couldn't believe it!!!!
A BM is a mere (lol) 493 cals where a BT is a staggering 804 cals!!!!!
I am still in shock! 311 more calories than I would have had! just in one burger!
(cheers buddy), she has her weigh in tomorrow night, an extra day to get it off lol.
Will study this list to check out the better/less calorie filled options for my next visit lol.
Anyone want to know anything on their menu, point wise, just ask!
Bad, bad girl & with those scales waiting for me tonight too!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Sparkle PMSL I discovered the same thing last time I went to Maccy D's! :^O I was so bored eating and having nothing to read I finished reading the sheet that was on the tray and when I went to empty it, it was only then I saw the information on the other side! I nicked it LOL!!:^O

I usually stick with a chicken sandwich meal, it's 9.5 points if I remember correctly for that, fries and a diet coke.

Best of luck with your WI tonight hun xx

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi everyone

It's been a while, I have been off work with tonsilitis. Went for weigh in last Wednesday and lost 2lb!! Only got 5lb to go to reach first goal. Great to see everyone still sticking with it.

Can't go to WW meeting this Wednesday as I have to work overtime (that's what I get for being sick!!) Going to be extra careful all week.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

3.95 a week for Slimming World.

Different in the way that you don't count anything - you have a list of free foods of which you can eat as much as you like.

There are green and red days, I do all green because I'm vegetarian but most people mix. You do count syns, such as chocolate, but they are quite generous.

Great because there's no weighing involved 🙂

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

HI everyone,

just found this board! Fantastic place!!

I had my second baby 11 weeks ago and I was 12 stone 8lb. My husband was 14 stone 8 lb, and the 2 of us decided we needed to loose 3 stone each to be our ideal weights.

I started cooking form a great book, Ainsley Harriets low fat meals in minutes, in the evenings and the weight is slowly but surley coming off.

Hubby was a one for chocolate and has stopped eating that during the day, though does have the occasional bar in the evening, and I don't snack during the day like a used to. We both make sure we have breakfast, (weetabix or something) lunch: a sandwich and then an Ainsley special. The stuff is tasty, quick and very easy, In the last 9 weeks since we started I have lost 10 lb's and hubby has lost 11lb, I know its not amazing results but its a step in the right direction.

I am walking everyday, about 2 miles and hubby goes out on his bike twice a week for about 45 minutes a time, as well as running around after the boys.

Healthy eating, a bit of excercise and the right frame of mind, thats what we all need!!!

Hope this helps, I am not on a diet I am just changing the way I eat. As I am not on a diet I don't have the huge guilt feeling if I slip up and have chips one night, (There are some particularly nice low fat chips in the book - hubby wants them every night!!)

Great board keep up the good work, just been reading about saweetners - yikes!!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Think I have trashed this week already with some early birthday celebrations lol.
Wont go into everything pointwise but sufficient to say I have gone well over the last two days.
I have a rotten cold at the moment so I hope that will help me make up some points lol.
We was going out for a meal tonight but I have cancelled (due to the cold) & we are going to the cinema instead tomorrow (less points than a slap up lol).
Hope your weekend is going better!
