*The Nags head healthy eating group*

This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi dilovell...

I am so glad you discovered what is causing your ‘weight problem’ and I am even more pleased for you, that you found a way of finally loosing weight without having to ‘deprive your taste buds’.

I am sorry you did not find WW an effective weight loss program, but we are all individuals and I think we all deal with our problems differently.

I agree with you, Diets do not work. Take that from someone who was a serial dieter for more than 13 years!

I gained a lot of weight after my 2nd child’s birth and was desperate to loose the weight, but because of my past battle with anorexia, I could not go on ANY kind of diet.

I have found after joining WW, that I am eating healthier than I have ever done in my life before. And I still get to eat the odd chocolate here and there and have a regular glass of my favourite red wine, etc. So I do not feel that I have been deprived of any thing I like or used to like.

The point that I am trying to make is that I honestly think that WW is more a healthy eating plan than a diet-diet?

But I am sure someone will find your post very helpful, because WW does not work for every one. And someone might just find that they could benefit from more information about how you manage to loose weight the way you do…

Like you; we all have to find what works for each of us as individuals.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi everybody…

IT IS WEEKEND!!

Now remember your targets and don’t overdo it!

This week made up for the horrendous week I had last week. I have been very motivated and positive the whole week, and did my 30 minutes exercises every day and had no cravings! I am going to mow the lawn today, because it’s nice and sunny, so that will be a few more points earned!

Hope every body else has had a good week. Remember to take care over the weekend.
If you are not legless after visiting the pub, remember dancing is GREAT exercise, and good damage control!

sparkle_dust_2003…

I hope we are both as positive, come Monday! lol…

Have A GREAT WEEKEND every body!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi everyone,

WE WAS ROBBED!!! :-(:_|:-(

It's been a horrendous week for me, waaaaaaaay too much boozing, been eating junk food, no tracking, missing brekkie, missing lunch and eating cereal for dinner. 😞

That and its TOTM today and I just feel like total and utter carp. X-(

I'm trying my best to start afresh today and trying to stay focused for the weekend.

Lily thanks for the recipe I bought the ingredients yesterday and am going to make it tonight.

Sparkle well done hun on the loss that's great! 🙂 I love it when you think you've put on and you've actually lost that week.

Back to the grindstone, have a great day everyone. 🙂

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi everyone!:x

Not usually a footy fan but was addicted with last nights game, so much I had to have some voddys to send good spirit to the lads!
Then I had more to drown our sorrows!

WE WE'RE ROBBED:_|
Can't believe it!

I also got robbed of most of todays points in the process!
I was so gripped!
Still, not gonna let it shake off my positive feeling.
I will adjust my points for the rest of the week.
I have had 7 points today so far & am going to drink loads of water to cure my hangover (dual purpose lol).
Have a great weekend & see ya's soon.
To date I have lost 33lb (since our 15mnth daughter was born) & have another 58 to go!
I will do it, however long it takes!

I am doing fairly good so far, although I went over on thursday night I haven't had a drink since & NO take-away this week.
Just keeping my points to a minimum, I had 21 yesterday & so far today I have had just 7 points.
Hmmm roast for later but will try & have extra veggies lol.
See you all soon 🙂

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

I haven't heard of it, but I'm doing Slimming World.

Well, supposed to be. This week has been awful (I blame the football lol). So bad in fact, not going tomorrow night. Going to skip it and go the following week - give myself a whole week to wear it off.

Reckon I must have got through about 500 syns a day lol.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Jay - you are going to hate me for this but... I think you should go to your weigh in. See what damage you have done and then it will really focus your mind for the coming week. I have been going to ww faithfully every week for a year (except when away on holiday) - even when I know it will be bad (like just after a holiday or anniversary or birthday) and I find it helps to keep me focused. Otherwise you can slip by thinking "well I have a whole week..."

Keep focused everyone - you want to look good in your summer clothes!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Sorry jay but I agree with ivvie too!
I have done that so many times it's unreal, only to find that my bad week turns into 2 weeks.
Thinking "oh well, i'm going to have a gain anyway"
It's best to wipe the slate clean & start afresh!
('ark at me lol, not exactly slimmer of the year talking lol)
I will say though that when I lost 3 1/2 stone with SW many moons ago, it was because I went every week, good or bad.
I used to have my weigh in's on a thursday night & would sometimes ring my leader to get her to weigh me on a tuesday or wednesday at her home if I had really been bad, just to put a stop to it!
Obviously the decisions up to you but I hope you have a re-think 🙂
The good thing is, at least you know where you have gone wrong (me too again) & it would be far worse to have a gain if you had stuck to your sins religiously!
Hey, c'mon it might not be that bad, look at my result last week & I had eaten for England lol.
I have only 27 points left to last me till weigh in lol.
I usually have that in a day!

Thanks for that link clare, have saved it to have a read when it's a bit more quieter around the house lol

Good luck everyone & let us know if you do go Jay.
Good luck (((jay)))

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi all,

Well, what can I say, I have just had been eating non-stop all week. 😞

I am so not looking forward to WI tomorrow. :_|

Went out last night because I'm moving on Wednesday so ended up at TGI Fridays :_| following that the pub and then cinema to see Shrek 2 (very funny :-)) I don't know what's been going on lately, I think I'm too stressed out so I have reverted to comfort eating. I'm hoping tomorrow's WI gives me the swift kick up the arris I need to get back on track.

Clare - that link for the Wendy plan is quite common. If you go to the WW website and read the messageboards they are always quite helpful. Apparently people use the Wendy plan when their weight loss has plateued (sp?) or they have been losing weight particularly slowly. It is meant to kick your system into touch and speed up your metabolism to help you lose weight.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Think you're right - perhaps I will go. I know I shouldn't but I'm going to weigh myself at Boots this morning to get a rough idea of how bad it is. I actually feel "fat" if that makes sense? All sluggish and yucky.

My fault entirely so no-one to blame but myself 😞

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi Everyone - Good luck with weigh-in's this week. Jay, I also think you should go, even if it's just to see how much affect it has had as Ivvie says.

I can't go this week and must admit I've been a bit lax - not really gone mega over but just a couple of points each day. I'm sure it's cause I know I've got next week to sort myself out. Bad move!

On a positive note which might help me get re-focussed, bought a pair of jeans at the weekend a size smaller and they actually fit! Really pleased.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Went to Boots - gained about a 1 lb with them, so hopefully won't be too bad tonight.

To think I left the meeting last week feeling really positive..... oops.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi Jay, glad you've decided to go tonight!
I think it must be something in the water lately (lol) as quite a few of us are in the same boat at the moment with keeping (or not, as the case may be) to our points/sins!
Maybe it will encourage us to get back on track!
I have had 7 points today so I now have 20 left before WI tomorow night.
Just hanging in by a whisker lol but even if I stick to them points (which is doubtful) I may still have a gain this week, after my two weeks of previous munching & drinking!
We are currently thinking of booking a holiday in the canaries B-), for late October (haven't had one for 3 years :-() & I hope that will give me extra encouragement.
I don't want another holiday wearing a baggy t-shirt down to my ankles, to cover the chubbly bits.
Thinking "if only I had stuck to my points"
I have 4 months! (if we do go!).
BTW I know I won't be bikini material in just 4 mnths but at least, if I do well I will be safe from the harpoon lol!
Make today count! I am going to try so hard now!
Just think long term & try not to beat yourself up about it, we are only human & the odd downfall won't trash our long term acheivements!
Will just delay them!
Have a great (not too great lol) day everyone, see ya's later

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

I have had a good read of that Wendy Plan... It might just work but I'm going to adapt it to the Ivvie Plan cos I don't have as many points as she says!

So the Ivvie plan will involve mainly medium points days with one mega point day (say a max of 30 points - huge when I'm usually on 18) and one low (say 10) and then for the rest of the week it will be 16 points, 18 points, 16 points, 18 points and 16 points. Unlike Wendy I will maintain my exercise and I will vary which day of the week gets the big points (but never Monday - the day before WI!)

In theory it should work. After WI tomorrow I will give it a go...
