This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Hi sexy gal

I like Kraft's low fat or is it no fat? ?:| Honey and mustard dressing. My bf loves Kraft's low fat thousand islands dressing (pink stuff) LOL. I think ASDA have got an offer on at the mo, buy 2 for £1.50 or seperately they work out to be £1.12 or thereabouts.

Hi the rest of you,

I'm off out on a girly boozy night out tonight so lots of points in the bank for those voddie's n southern comfort and cokes, oops diet coke :^O

Sparkle I shall have a voddy and think of you tonight LOL. PS I weighed myself again yesterday *groan* I know, I know, I really should stop and the scales said I had lost 3 pounds so I just hope that I don't wreck it all this weekend!

Note to self: resist the temptation of a kebab on way home. :^O

Have a great day everyone!

Dark Angel how often do you weigh yourself? Did you know that your weight can vary by up to 5 lbs on any day of the week? So on Thursday you could have lost 3 lbs but on Friday it's only 1 lb. Nothing to do with your eating but purely because your weight varies and at certain times you will retain fluid. All the different slimming groups tell you should only weigh once per week, at the same time on the same day. None of us can stick to that so here's what I do:

Tuesday am is weighing day. Get weighed (in same clothes every week). Saturday am get on scales at home (different to those at ww), look at how I am doing and make adjustments to my points for the rest of the week if necessary. Tuesday am go to ww and get weighed.

I don't weigh any other times as I found that when I weighed every day on Thursday I could have lost 3 lbs but on Friday had gained a lb! Heartbreaking!!

Hmmmmmm, not doing vey well at all, (here in the sparkle camp!)
I will be back when i'm back on track!
Really fancy a night out tonight, so mum's come over to watch the kiddies & we are out for a drink (or two lol) & an indian!
I will be coming back down to earth with a bump (more like an almighty crash) on tuesday, my reign of terror will then come to an abrupt end.
Oh well! I am going to enjoy tonight & hopefully that will be it, damage done & out of my system!
Hope you are all doing well 🙂
Have a great weekend.
See you's very soon.

That's the attitude Sparkle! Just get it out of your system and then start again. I did that after my hols! It has taken me nearly two weeks to regain my focus - not helped this weekend by the fact that hubby and I were celebrating 17 years together (only 11 married though) so we went out for a Thai meal and also had a chocolate cake! I went one point over my allowance for the meal and managed to stay right on target on Saturday when we had cake!

Today I will be extra careful as I have a date with the scales tomorrow morning and my leader has set me the challenge of losing 6 lbs in 5 weeks to get to goal before the children break up for school hols! Eeeek! It doesn't sound too hard except that the last few pounds are the hardest to shift! Wish me luck cos I am going to need it!

Afternoon all,

:DX-(:_| that was how my weekend was!

I won't even mention the disaster that was Friday night which led to Sin-filled Saturday and Stitch-me-up-like-a-kipper Sunday! :^O

Not only have I not been tracking, I have drunk too much alcohol, ate too much pizza/chinese food/crisps yep you name it I ate it. Points, what points? D'oh!!!!!

My only saving grace is that I went to the gym on Saturday for an hour and a half. I am back on track today but with weigh in tonight, the verdict doesn't look promising. I am so annoyed at myself for undoing all my hard work. 😞 Still I guess we are allowed a blow out every now and then and I am back to tracking and pointing today so all is not lost!

Oh well, hope you all had a better time than me. I'll pop in later and post up my WI results.

Have a good day 🙂

Hi amber and everyone else,

Well I lost 1/2 pound so I'm happy as I thought I would put on this week. 🙂

I was craving all last week too, rubbish and crisps etc, that and it was hot so I wasn't eating much anyway.

I am going to make a real effort to track properly this week............just as soon as I have finished this Bacardi Breezer (or 3 or 4) LOL, what? the footie's on! :^O

Have a great evening everyone xx

Went to weigh in (quickly as didn't want to miss the football) and only gained 1 lb!

Really chuffed as stuffed myself silly for nearly two weeks, plus tons of lager.

Now to get fully back on the plan and lose it again.

Jay...

That's not bad for a holliday. I heard of a WW leader who gained a stone on holliday!

1lb is nothing!

Hi every body…

I am just back from being weighed in!

I lost another 2½lb and got my 3rd 7 sticky!

I had a truly horrendous week last week. I did not exercise much and I craved all the wrong things. I honestly thought I had gained at least 3lb.

Well, I am more than motivated for this week!

Amber - be careful! Some people find that they are a week behind with what their bodies do - so you were good, lost weight, you were bad, lost weight, you were good, put on weight, you were good, lost weight etc. It doesn't work for everyone but there are quite a few at my ww group who find that! Gulp! So just keep a tight grip this week just to make sure.

I lost a mere half pound this week. More than I expected as I know I am retaining fluid (which will all vanish on Friday as soon as the dreaded thing arrives). I hate this feeling so I may resort to Aqua Ban so that I feel "normal" again.

I bought myself a set of dumbells today. I start toning the upper arms tomorrow! They seem very heavy now but I hope that in a couple of weeks I'll have to get some heavier ones! 🙂

Ivvie...

Thank you for that very helpful tip. I will work extra hard this week and make sure I don’t get into the same rut as last week.

My partner decided to show me his support by buying me a bicycle and a Trail-a-tot (little trailer for my 2 year old son to sit in when I cycle somewhere) for my birthday! LOL!!

Hi everyone - apologies for not being here this week, I seem to have lurched from one disaster to another - culminating in returning from a weekend away to discover the fridge/freezer had broken down. Spent Sun night & yesterday clearing up soggy/smelly off food (lovely). Really p'd off as had just been paid and stocked it with lovely low fat foot (broke my heart to chuck out all those M&S Choc Puds & Custard)!

Well done to everyone that's lost this week - Jay 1lb on is fantastic for a holiday.

Amber - big hugs and well done. I'm sure the support your partner is providing will have a huge encouragement factor for you.

I'm back from weigh in - 1/2 lb off. Actually quite surprised as was camping at the weekend and over-ate (including 2 huge baked bananas with flakes in!).

Dark Angel - my pasta sauce is:-

Basically any of the Lloyd Grossman pasta sauces = 5.5 - 6 points and 100g very lean mince (4 points).
This give you a basic sauce of 10 points but it really only does you twice.

I bulk it out with 2 tins of chopped tomatos (free), lots of mushrooms (free), small onion very finely chopped (free) and anything else I have handy!

It then does 4 very generous servings and puts the points down to 2.5 (much better!).

You might want to try it with 1 tin of toms first to make sure it still has enough flavour for you (I still find it quite strong which is why I bulk it out more) - it will make 3 servings & still only be 3.5 points per serving.

Better go and get on - loads of lovely washing to catch up on!

*The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi everyone.
I have just discovered the discussion boards and this one seems just my sort of thing.
After some years of having a very nice time thank you very much, followed by a baby, it was finally time to sort my weight out. I am 5'11" so I could carry a size 20 better than some but this was still no way to be at 35 so I joined WW when the small person was 6 months old (and I stopped breast feeding). It all seemed to click pretty well with me as I reached my gold weight in about 5 months - just over 3 stone lost. After this I actually ended up losing a bit more and have stabilised at an average size 12. I have been here for 18 months now so am pretty confident that I am staying here. The nicest side effect for me was that although I will never escape being a 'great British pear shape' I seemed to lose lots more weight from bum/hips than anywhere else so I am a bit more even now. I blame the babe for the complete lack of boobs now - not WW!
I am a great fan of WW - it really works as long as you stick to the rules.
I look forward to reading everyones stories, hints and tips.

I have been "dieting" for 10 years. The first time I joined WW and lost 2 stone for my wedding, ideal goal in mind. I have finally woken up. My eating wasn't about weight but emotion. I am an emotional eater, sad, angry, jealous, all those feelings I want to deny myself having I just stuff myself with food. For a while it helps until I read a book about emotional eating. It has only been 2 weeks and, sometimes it has been a lonely place examining those feelings but I have lost 4 pounds and sacrificed NOTHING!!! I eat what I want an am really feeling more accepting of myself. The scales still call me daily and I do succumb however, I am more happy to step on especially with my weight decreasing.
STOP DIETING AND DEPRIVING YOUR TASTE BUDS!!!
