This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Good morning everyone

lily, 1½lb that's great. My WI is tonight, not feeling very optimistic (again) had a few drinks last night and some toast (way over my points), but have exercised this week and am hoping for even ½lb!

amber, 19½lb in 6 weeks, that's brilliant!!!! Well done Caz, hope you are ok.

Have to agree with you Sparkle, this thread is great, getting advice, always someone to help and reading each others success stories is great motivation.

Morning all,

Caz well done, half a stone is brilliant!

Amber I can't believe you lost your 10% in 6 weeks that is really good, well done hun!

Sparkle well done on being good at the buffet lol

I really should get back on track, its not that I've fallen off the wagon or anything I'm just not eating enough. 😞 Maybe its the heat, I don't know. I'm drinking loads of water and eating my daily portions of fruit/veg but when it comes to 'real food' I can barely eat. What a strange turn of events, normally I want to eat everything in sight and now it's like I'm a hamster! :_|

I'm undereating about 6-9 points a day, I know its not good and that my body goes into starvation mode etc, I'm going to be really vigilant with the tracker this week.

Have a good day everyone 🙂

Hi Everyone,

Dark-angel, I'm the same as you and find i don't eat much this weather, I wouldn't worry too much as its not likely to last that long is it!

The wedding is the beginning of october and i am trying to lose a little weight now then stay the same as my mum is making my dress and I don't want her to have to keep altering it. I'd like to lose about another 1/2 stone but i'll see how the dress looks 🙂

Well done Amber - thats an amazing thing you are going to do. Hope your brother stays well. If you don't mind me asking what does it entail? I have given blood even tho i hate needles but much worse than that i don't think i could cope with.

Have a good afternoon everyone,

Rachel

Hi everyone.

Just got back after stuffing my face non-stop on holiday for over a week. So on a strict calorie controlled diet this week in preparation for going back on to Slimming World from Monday.

Feel really yucky, much prefer the way I feel when eating healthily.

Hi Jay, hope you had a good time (as well as the food lol).
I always feel exactly the same when I arrive home from a holiday lol.
The first few days feels great (food counting freedom), then the enjoyment goes & you just have it because you are on holiday & what the heck lol.
I always feel sluggish if I eat whatever, for days on end & actually can't wait to get back on the plan of healthy eating as soon as I arrive home!
People (skinny's lol) used to say to me "gawd, don't you get fed up with watching every mouthful" & my reply has always been NO!, it makes food more interesting & if you have the points/sins/calories etc to have a treat, you really ENJOY IT!
People who can eat what they wan't, when they wan't, never really enjoy something "naughty" like we do lol.

So far today I have had 11 points

banana & satsuma 2

2 salad sarnies 6.5
& a snack size crunchie 2.5

I have 13 left for dinner, not sure what to have at the mo' lol
See yas all later with the verdict lol
Have a great day 🙂

Dark Angel - if you are really struggling to eat all of your points then why don't you treat yourself to some full fat ice cream? Or something along those lines that you wouldn't usually use the points on. One of my friends had a Mars Bar yesterday for the first time in ages! She had enough points left at the end of the day so she popped a Mars into the fridge and then ate it in the evening with a cup of tea. She said it was fantastic - probably even better cos she wouldn't usually "waste" the points on it!

Anything is worth a try!

Sparkle, glad it's not just me on holiday who does that :0).

Been eating lots of salad since I got back, mainly thanks to the hot weather and not feeling like eating much else.

Have you discovered Walkers Sensations Popadoms and Creamy chicken pasanda with coriander? Delicious and only 88 cals per 40g bag, for fellow Scottish Slimmers that only 3.5 checks. The only way to lose weight is to follow a healthy eating plan, forget diets, the lbs pile back on as soon as you come off the diet.

Hi Jay ...... (& i'm sure it's not just us, lol)

As it stands at the moment (after my dinner),
I have 2 points left!!!
*racking brains as I must have missed something lol*
Is this a new record in the sparkle camp? lol.
That means I have a startling 27 points in the munch bank for the morning!
Just 6 days left to repair the damage, I can do it, surely?
Hi Liza', someone mentioned them at WW last week, will look out for them
:-)
See yas tomorrow, hope everyone is doing great!

Hi Everyone - Sparkle, I've got 2 points left too! Trying to save a couple every day this week as am going camping at the weekend and there is no way I will be under 20 points per day!

Quite chuffed as managed to "bulk out" my fav pasta sauce with loads of free items so instead of a 10 point sauce doing me twice, it's going to do 4 meals - down to 2.5 points per serving - yeha!

Hi Lizi - I've not seen those Walkers things - will def have a hunt the next time I go shopping.

Hi Lizi222, i did scottish slimmers a few years ago, and LOVED the eating plan. I got to goal in 6 months and kept it off for 2 years 🙂

It all went on again though slowly, and now i'm doing WW, and have lost 8lbs so far. WW is a great eating plan too, I'm amazed at how much i can eat!
The meeting times & venue suit me better than SS.

Hi everybody...

Thanks for your congrats and encouragement.

This is a truly great thread.

Clare... I was just as amazed as you at how much one are expected to eat. It took me a while though to be able to use all the points I had to in one day.

But with the rapid weight loss my daily point allowance has dropped now and I find it easier to use up all that is required in a day.

I am doing the Race for Life - Cancer research UK - Charity run/walk in Kirkcaldy in July is any body else doing it then?

Good for earning a few extra points and doing a good deed at the same time... 😉

Good morning everyone

Went to WI last night and stayed the same. Ah well just have to try harder this week. Want to get down to my goal for my holiday. Only have 7½lb to go and I go to Playa De Ingles on 9th August 2004, just seven weeks away, going to push myself hard to get it all off (then probably put some back on!!).

*The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi…

I have finally managed to read through the whole thread! And what a brilliant read!!

While doing the above, I saw a little bit of my own story in most of the posts.

So here is my personal story. Hope someone benefits from it…

Since my early teens, I yo-yo dieted and used any diet tablets and medicine under the sun and as a result I ended up having anorexia for a very long time. (The sad thing is, that I was never overweight and did not need to diet). I managed to get pregnant at age 21 (I don’t know how, under the circumstances…) and started eating properly again for the benefit of my first born, but I could unfortunately not breast feed him even though I wanted to do that for him with all my heart. I felt very guilty when I found out I was 4 months pregnant, because I felt I have deprived my unborn child of necessary nutrients for the 4 months I did not even realise, I was pregnant. Lucky for me I was very fit and I did start eating a healthy diet after I found out I was pregnant and he was born a very healthy baby. But after only a year I went back to my old habits and the anorexia took over my life again.

I have after a long and hard battle managed to beat the anorexia for the last 6 years but after the birth of my second son have gained 4 ½ stone! (This time I managed to breastfeed my baby for the first 18 months of his life, thank goodness 🐵 ) I knew I couldn’t go on any diet, because if I started, I would just stop eating again. And I knew from experience, that it is not easy getting out of ‘the habit’!

I am still a bit scared to eat large amounts of food, that is why I couldn’t and wouldn’t try the Atkins diet and I was even suspicious of going on the Weight Watchers program. But 6 weeks ago, I started the Weight Watchers healthy eating plan and even though it was difficult for me to eat all that was required of me initially, I have now settled into the program and I am eating a much more balanced diet than I have ever had in my life and it has inspired me to start exercising again.

I have lost almost 20 lbs in 6 weeks and I am eating A LOT. My partner is very proud of me and encourages me but does not pressure me. He is also eating much less processed foods, because him and the children eat mostly the same as I do now. I feel great and am even beating depression at the same time. I have 2 ½ stone left to loose and plan to stick to this new healthier way of eating after shedding the extra pounds, for the benefit of not only myself but also of my family.

I will never be rid of the shadow of Anorexia following me for the rest of my life, but I feel safe for the moment using the Weight Watchers program, because while eating properly and loosing weight; and later when I have reached my goal weight, maintain it, there is no way that Anorexia can creep up on me.

At the age of 37, I now feel that I am in control of my weight and diet for the first time since my teens when I started going on all those silly diets. And to think it all started out as a bet with one of my friends of who could loose the most weight in 4 weeks!!!!!!!!!

Your story/life is so similar to mine in many ways. I'm really pleased that you have come this far and I cannot even express how happy I am that you have managed to beat anorexia, (I have some close friends who still battle with it today).

Just wanted to give you some more (((hugs)))

Big (((hugs))) from me too amber.
You have come so far & overcome so many hurdles, it certainly looks like the WW is tailor made for you.
At least by having your points each day, you will know that you will not only lose the weight but most importantly remain healthy for you & your familys future together.
So pleased for you & look forward to seeing you again soon 🙂
Hi to everyone else too 🙂
I am keeping my head above water today lol, I have had quite a stressful day,
(thanks too to girlie week lol).
Kiddie's have been whingy & I have had so much banking to do, built up since February Grrrrrr!
Spent hours doing it, between sorting the little angel's (lol) out & trying to do everything else too lol
Anyway I have had my full quota today, munch bank is now empty & I will try & refrain from pouring another super chill out voddy (after posting lol).
The chokaholic attacks have almost passed now, so that is good.
Must get some magnesium tab's, apparantly we only crave sweet things at this time, because our bodies magnesium level drops!
Hmmmmm must get some more info' on that, could save me hundreds of points in the long run.
Will let you know if I find out anything 🙂
See yas all tomorrow, hope you are all doing well!
*chink, chink*
What was that?, surely it wasn't another voddy being poured! GASP!!
Better go & investigate lol.
Be good sparky, be good! lol
*to be continued* lol

Hi x_sexy_gal_x...

Tesco have a few nice ones with their new Healthy eating labels on.

I suppose it depends on your taste, but I quite like their Lemon & Tarragon dressing. It has a creamy base of fromage frais and it only has 2.7g fat of which Saturates is only 0.4g per 100g.
