There's a couple of days to go now but do you think the time between an election being called and election day should be much reduced?
It seems to have been going on "forever" so do you think a fortnight is quite long enough?
I suppose some will say that "it takes time" to set it all up, do this, that or the other but my voting card has been here for weeks so isn't it time for a change in the timescale?

Just watching the under 30's Question Time.....what an absolute and utter shambles! It's disgraceful. The Labour fishwife Angela Raynor and the fantasist Jo Swanson talking over everyone and the 'chair' failing to take control. I was undecided about my vote, but this programme has helped me makeup my mind.

And yes...I agree withCeeDee about the timescale.

How Do You organise it quicker ?
Polling stations to be booked & staff
Counting venues to be booked and 100s of staff
All the Official printing
The legal time, it takes from calling an election -
To closing any new 'additions' or changes to Voters rolls
etc etc etc

Well here in an E. Kent constiuency neither my neighbours or myself has a polling card yet on 11/12. Someone needs to get their finger out.

Mine's been here for ages. Are you sure you're registered to vote? If you are, on the card it says "You do not need to take this card with you to vote".

Another three hours and it'll be all over bar the shouting. Then it'll be the inquest.

That's it, all done. Now there's a race in some places to get the result out.

First exit polls predicting a Conservative majority of 86. Remains to be seen how accurate or otherwise they are?

It's all over now bar the recriminations. The last constituency (St Ives) has just declared, a Conservative hold so the Conservatives have a seat for every day of the year, 365. Most unexpected on Wednesday? A majority of 80, not far off the exit prediction?
