No Butter Mountain now?

Remember years back when the Common Market had a Butter mountain? Well, they ain't got one now and in fact the French have Butter in short supply:-

Don't times change? There was a scam involving Butter going back and forth and also we were importing French milk so it looks like the EEC has got it all wrong again?

Yes, I remember the butter mountain. UK families on benefits could take their benifit book or dss letter to the local meeting rooms and get free butter.

Funny how things can turn.

They still havent worked it out.

If there is a glut of something, keep the glut quiet and put it about that there is a shortage.

A lot of people will panic and bulk buy, so getting rid of the glut.
