Has anyone on here heard of a scam involving HMRC? My neighbour has had a text message saying that she is due a tax rebate, and giving a web address. She looked on the website and it wants all her details etc. I advised her to ignore it, as it seems a bit suspicious to me. Surely if a person were due a tax rebate they would be contacted by mail? I have heard of many different scams, but not this particular one.

Ahhh.....thank you both. As I suspected. I will tell her to delete the text. She thought she was due a nice little windfall!☹️
