. . . . and lost UK depositors alone in excess of £1 billion - I'm not convinced the Iceland model is one to be admired.

Pouring money into Greece is a waste of money, unless and until it claims its own currency, and independence, back...
"Mr. Tsipras, your moment has come and, frankly, if you've got the courage, you should lead the Greek people out of the eurozone with your head held high.
“Get back your democracy, get back control of your country, give your people the leadership and the hope that they crave.
“Yes, it’ll be tough for the first few months but, with a devalued currency and friends of Greece all over the world, you will recover...”

Obviously the Greeks will be kept in the Eurozone. Bailed out by Germany. The Germans may curse, but when the Greeks come back in 6 months time, and ask for another lot of money, the Germans will pay out again.
And so it will go on. The Greeks will keep asking for money, and the Germans will keep paying them.
From the UK point of view, this seems highly satisfactory. Because it means that the energy of the Germans is being used up, in spending money they'll never get back. So the Germans won't get rich enough to establish a powerful Fourth Reich.
Thanks to the Greeks, who are taking the Germans' money!

Yes, the Governments are trying to make the Brits go back to sleep, by using Television.
The programmes on Television are manifestly designed to stop people thinking.
That's why you should not watch TV. TV is carefully planned to weaken your instinctive and natural revulsion at what the politicians are doing to destroy our country.
