Vat number 30 days notice

Can any one tell me if this is fair practice by eBay , in December eBay give me 30 days notice for a vat number which on the 8th of January I applied for a vat number from the HMRC I am still waiting for this vat number it's now the 17th of April my account was blocked around the 18th of January and is still blocked to this day I have lost ££££££ in sales my business is almost failing plenty of stock and no money coming in , so if it takes over 3 months for a vat number why is eBay only giving 30 days absolutely disgusting I have personally contacted eBay by phone and they will not help me at all

A lot of eBay's actions don't seem fair, but that doesnt mean they will change them.  Have you chased HMRC for the number?  That seems a long wait for what should be a mostly automatic process.
