Oh, difficult. Tp quote a family story about a distant reletive who, as a child, was asked which of her dolls was her favourite
*They are all my favourite!"
Actually, if I have to narrow it down:
Interesting Times - Terry Prachett
Peoms of Tennyson
Set in Darkness - Ian Rankin
Northanger Abby - Jane Austin (I love the way the the whole of the first chapter is explaining why Catherine is not an heroine)
Left Hand of Darkness - Ursula Le Guin
The Foundation trillagy - Isaac Azimov
Oh, oh, Ive left out PG Wodehouse... and CS Lewis..... and the Bronte sisters..........
I could go on for ever.
I agree about Satre, but he makes an interesting read. Ive not come across Camilla Lackberg - I must look out for her.
I think we have probably got quite similar tastes

Must admit that I like the Wallander series and I have read nearly all of the Rebus books by Ian Rankin. I also like the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson.

Ive tried several books by Patterson, but Ive never managed to warm to his writing. I dont know why as he's quite popular.
Another popular writer Ive never managed to get into is Stephen King.

I love Stephen King.

Me too, I think Dean Koontz & James Herbert are good too. Clive Barker is my favourite in that genre though.
