I don't know if anyone remembers me saying that my Goddaughter Steph had had a little girl.  Well Georgia is 2 now.

Georgia is on the right with big sister Grace who is now 6.  Doesn't time go fast when you're having fun?

i think she looks very much like her big sister when she was younger, but i would never have recognised grace now.

how is your mother ?  i know she had a fall and she was in hospital for ages. but i can't find an update anywhere 😞

Someone else knit the girls jumpers.  The girls don't really look alike or behave alike.

My mum had a bad fall in July last year and broke her left hip badly.  She also cut her head open.  She's only been fully weight bearing for just over three weeks.  We go back to the fracture clinic next month.  She may need further surger to remove either one or  both of the screws that are there.  Mum was initially in hospital for 8 weeks.  She is managing to get around with the aid of a zimmer frame now and she practices walking with a stick but only when I am in.  If she had another fall now, she could be in hospital for a few months.  It's a long job.  Apart from the hip and the heart condition, she's not doing too badly.

I'm sorry to read about your mum books, I didn't know.   I'm glad to see she's coming along nicely.  I think I'm more surprised how much older Grace looks now than how much Georgia has grown, but she looks like a right little mischief doesn't she, and look at those curls.  I'm envious of them!  I hope you're keeping well too books.x.

Hi CG,  In herself, my mum has good days and bad days.  She's not been allowed out for six months due to the fall.  She can go out now due to the hip but she can't go out because it's too cold for her due to the heart condition so it's a vicious circle.

The girls are growing a treat.  Everyone remarks on Georgia's hair.  She's like a carrot top curly top and yes, she is full of mischief.  When she's being told off, you just get a cheesy grin.

oh thank goodness ! i was very concerned that mum had passed away and that you had been unable to let us know due to grief.

i was also aware that you don't say so much on fh+g these days as i trawled through your replies on threads and for a few months you've given more replies on other boards.

I don't post much on here these days Shona.  

We have a new lady doctor at our practice and she came to see mum today to check on how she was doing.  I thought that was nice of her.

Had to go back to the fracture clinic last week and the consultant wanted mum to have an urgent CT scan which she had last Wednesday.  We had to go back to the fracture clinic today and the news isn't good.  Mum might have to have the whole operation done again as the bone isn't healing.  She has to go and see another consultant in three weeks.  The consultant we will see then just specialises in hips so we will have to see what he says.

how is mum ?  as the 3 weeks have been and gone so you should know more now ?

Sorry I've not been back on for a while.  

We have to go back to the hospital in July as the consultant we saw thinks that it is healing a bit.  Mum will have to have an x-ray before she sees him and then they'll decide if she needs another op.  If so, they will decide on which of as they've given several different options.

My old laptop broke and I managed for more than a couple of years on a phone, but having replaced the laptop ( actually a chromebook ) it has remembered my password for fh+g so I popped in for a browse 🙂

It's been over 3 years since i last replied on fh+g, so the girls will be at school now, but the real question is - is mum still with you ?

Yes Shona - both of the girls are now at school.  Grace is nine now and Georgia is five.  Grace is as good as gold but Georgia is something else as she is always naughty.  I love them both to bits.

I know said that my mum was still here Shona but she's had another fall today and broken her right hip.  Heaven alone knows how long she'll be in hospital.  There's not a lot I can do at the moment as I can't even visit due to Covid 19.

oh thank goodness !  when you didn't reply re mum I did think she had left us, I am so pleased to know she hasn't.

Sorry she has had a fall but the hospital will look after her and do their very best to ensure she does not become infected, and hopefully she will be home as soon as possible.

Mum's coming home today so it's nowhere near as long as last time.  The worst part of her being in hospital is not being able to visit.
