Cary Grant, yes, still, after all these years. I loved he could comedy as well (Arsenic and Old Lace).

 

As for modern, well, quite fancy Chris Martin, but that might be because I adore Coldplay, Michael Buble (cos he's funny, well he was on G Norton) and a certain Cristiano Ronaldo.   Ooooh to be 30 years younger.  I loved being young, it was magic, and I am glad to report that I, on occasion, behaved rather badly Woman Wink

Michael Buble cos he is so cheeky. Robert Redford because he has beautiful eyes and was in one of my favourite films the horse whisperer oh and the way we were. I also adore Thierry Henry I love his voice and he played great football.

David Essex it's the eyes you could drown in them, but he looks quite frail now bless him.
Brian Bryan very sexy & very masculine ( actor)
Robert Redford Same reason as Ed, & he's my token blond.

For the more mature man Ian McKellen - he's a lovely man - I will never forget him in a posh hotel telling the chef that my son would have roast chicken, roast potatoes, tinned sweetcorn and gravy regardless of what the menu said. He then handed a tin of sweetcorn to the chef. He spent ages with son and showed infinite patience with reading the never ending lists that son writes. Since son has no idea of letter sizing and spacing, reading his writing is far from easy, especially when you aren't familiar with it.

 

Somewhat younger - Viggo Mortenson - but only with his long hair as in the Lord of the Rings.

 

Sean Bean - he still turns up regularly and takes both of my lads to Alton Towers.

 

I should also include "him indoors" - he may drive me to distraction, he may be really scruffy and look 6 months pregnant but he has stuck with me for nearly 40 years

modern man? well I'm like stroppy....probably pick OH, they do drive us nuts these husbands but I wouldn't swap mine......hhhmmmm wonders if I could swap him for a swimming pool? heeeeee hee

I like 'em small and dark, willowy rather than stocky. Also have a bit of a chubby-chaser vibe as I sometimes like the fuller figure as long as it goes with a lovely face. As for existing blokes: the Dalai Lama, he's got such a cheeky face; Sir David Attenborough, the greatest living Englishman; David Beckham 'cos he gives the impression of being thick but really decent, and he's gorgeous

Wasn't he just the epitome of gorgeousness though?  In everything he did, even 'I was a male war bride'.  He was born with the given name Archie Leach. 

 

In David Niven's book he wrote that the cottage Grant and Eroll Flynn shared was called 'Syphilis by the Sea' - so many young starlets did they entertain.
