Reprogramming Or Replacing A Vauxhall Vectra Ignition Key

The 1st key for my 2005 Vauxhall Vectra Club 16 1.8 failed to ignite the engine. I lost the other key and ordered for a spare key set via the dealer who later failed to programme the new key. The dealer suggested replacement of a module but still they said they failed to programme it. I towed the car home and it has been idle now for 12months. I tried 3 different sets of ECU dials to no avail. What is the way forward I do not need to buy a new car I cannot afford it.

Ishmael

Reprogramming Or Replacing A Vauxhall Vectra Ignition Key

Way outside my own motoring experience - sounds complicated!

There seems to be quite a bit on the internet. For instance, this YouTube video is one of many on offer - not sure whether it addresses your problem or not:

There's even an eBay page which seems to deal with keys:

if that's of any help.

If you have the car's manual, it might be worth having a good look through it to see whether it offers any suggestions.

Keep checking back, in case anyone with more relevant experience happens along with better information.
