New business Listing not visible after 24 hrs

Hi our listing is not being picked up by specific word search even with the promotion option turned on. Can you fill us in on what we should expect? Seems very odd and frustrating. Listing: 386848324999

As you are a new  seller,  or when the site is busy, it can take up to 48 hours for items to appear in searches, though it is usually much sooner.

Even items listed at the same time, some may appear later, depending on how busy that category is.

If you revise the item, it will send it to the back of the queue again, too.

Items have to be indexed first, then join a queue with the others waiting to be listed.

As long as you can see the item in active listing, My eBay Selling, it is listed correctly, and it's just a waiting game for it to appear in searches.

Thanks for your swift reply, I have read very similar responses to others querying the new listing system and it was 24 hr wait. So we'll be patient. I wonder if a notice about the listing times may be useful for newbies?

Its been like this for about a year for myself now, used to be list and it was there for all to see right away even with using third party software.

I did think they changed it so only those mugs that for the pay for click would get listings active right away, but not tested that idea.

Just got used to the idea that if I had bothered listing say today, then it goes live tomorrow, its the same on auctions as well.

Just for info this isn't (and never has been) the case for me.

I have listed two items today. Search:

alexon youngset wool jacket 

vintage mustard mac

Neither are sponsored, both are right up at the top. I have tried less specific searches, they still make it into top 20 because of 'new listing' push.  Maybe it is because they are not ubiquitous, although I have read this comment many times on the boards and - rechecked - and my items have never not shown immediately (or within minutes) in 14 years even with M&S/next commonplace  items.

I don't know this has any baring but for months when I start a new auction (BINs seem OK) I always get the kiddie in the hoody and "We can't find that page anywhere" for some time after pressing "Start".  Not sure how long for, but an hour or two later, if I check, it's there.

To the op if it is the "how to be in business book" I would suggest your title is far too vague and you need to expand a little more for the search engines to pick it up.

When we list specialist books pertaining to our area of sales we would add the author and put book in the title. So for example in your listing I would word it something like "Book, How to be in Business, By Fitt J or Jacky Fitt signed by author". Also would the listing perhaps be better suited to the Books category but under Textbooks, Education, Reference part?

By the way congratulations on writing your own book, that is some achievement in itself. Good luck with it.
