Incorrect Estimated Delivery Times

Anybody else have the same problem, next day special delivery estimated delivery date Sat 18th (correct), 1st class estimated delivery Sat 18th-Mon 20th (correct) and our default 2nd class also Sat 18th-Mon 20th (NOT correct).  Is this some new ebay delivery fantasy, or another one from never ending festival of ebay glitches ?

Incorrect Estimated Delivery Times

I have similar problem, our shipping settings are showing that we ship Monday to Friday and when I look on any of my listings today (Saturday) next day special delivery is showing estimated delivery on Tuesday, which is correct as we will ship on Monday, however our RM24 is showing estimated delivery on Monday, which is stupid, as the earliest we can ship is Monday. I already had several customer complains about it. I reported the issue and so far no response...

Incorrect Estimated Delivery Times

There is definitely an issue with the estimated delivery, and its been happening on/off since Dec 2021.

I'm currently trying to get help from eBay, to no avail!

I keep getting the exact same scripted response about a 'complacated algorithm' determining the dates that show.

The dates are based on several factors etc..

I have proven that my settings, performance, service, delivery times are all above accepted standards, theres nothing I'm doing that should extend the estimated dates.

I send same day, 1-2 day service, but my EDD is up to 8 days? (but competitors with same settings don't have the issue?)

Once I finally manage to get someone to escalate, after several times of being cut off with no help. The issue is magically fixed? (so it can't be anything to do with settings/performance!)

Then it will randomly happen again at a later date, no sales again, and I'll have to go through a days worth of fighting again.

Anyone else managed to figure this out? eBay offer NO HELP!!

Saturday delivery is only correct if you have stated that you will send by the more expensive Saturday guarantee delivery.

Although a lot of Special delivery items do arrive in a Saturday, ut is not guaranteed to arrive in a Saturday unless that option is offered.

And Saturday delivery isn't included in the next day delivery that RM attempt to achieve with first class post, and it is - if course - not a next day guaranteed service, unlike special delivery.

Incorrect Estimated Delivery Times

I post Monday to Friday with a 5 day dispatch period. My listings are currently showing delivery as 22nd to 25th and it is identical for first and second class which is rubbish.

I recently looked at the RM site and they now show postage times as delivery 'aims'.  Second class is still shown as 2-3 days, but I heard post office staff discussing it with customers and quoting 3 - 5 days. When queried the customer was advised this is the latest update from RM. Crazy.

Welcome to ebays proprietary Fantasy EDDs, based on their unique and Dynamic Calculation.

Forget whatever you selected as your Dispatch Window, ebay knows you're lying by noting and analysing your past delivery performance.

Forget what RM or your chosen couriers' estimates are for delivery, ebay knows that they can deliver quicker than they say.

Sellers have queried ebays EDDs with CS and pointed out most of the anomalies, inaccuracies and impossibilities during the weekly Community Chat Sessions and been told that "Ebay is correct, the calculations are working perfectly" and "No, they are not going to change them".

That's why the calculation is "unique", all it means is, only ebays calculation is right, everyone else's are wrong and "dynamic", which means ebay can decide whatever EDD it likes for to your sales and ignore anything in the real world that contradicts their calculations.

The collision of ebays calculations and the real world is why is living a Fantasy.

Quite possibly, eventually, ebay will see that it can't beat its sellers and delivery companies into living up to its delusions,  will back-track and abandon its so-called calculations.  Having confused buyers, driven sellers to distraction (and a few more of both away from ebay), the whole thing will disappear like morning mist.  Leaving ebay with only a reputation for totally unreliable delivery dates.

If you think that's unlikely, think back to the period when it was difficult to complete any transaction without getting a defect for something.  Ebay has tried this sort of heavy-handed "do as you're told" approach before and it failed.

I had the 'specialist' customer service rep I spoke to yesterday hang up on me when I was trying to get to the bottom of this issue. She told me that there is NOTHING that can be done to correct this, and that the 'algorithm' is working as it should be. When I asked how its possible, that it has been corrected, on many occasions after all of the times I call to say that its wrong, she told me it was a co-incidence!

I asked if I coud talk to somebody who could go through all the factors with me to see if there was any glitch in settings somewhere that was causing it. She said she had offered me a resolution, and that was that... I shouted that she hadn't offered a resolution, and she hung up!

How do you get help from eBay?

Maybe put a note on all your listings (sorry, time-consuming). In case a buyer doesn't take it in, maybe an email - with standard wording is fine, though I don't suppose you'd be allowed to begin with "Due to [bleep] eBay..."

I'm having same issue, it started yesterday morning. I ship same day 6 days per week up to 3pm and my default postage is RM Tracked 24. My delivery estimates on my listings today are showing between Wed 12th and Fri 14th July, however the latest date should be Tuesday 11th July.

Also all my orders yesterday (Thursday 6th) showed as send by Saturday 8th even though my postage settings clearly show that I dispatch Fridays.

Ebay fobbing me off.

Same issue and ebay no help, they have replied just explaining how they calculate delivery based on my past delivery history ect which makes no sense as i have never had a parcel delivered on the day of dispatch.

Ebay will reply with a cut and paste reply. They dont seem to bothered about this and its incredibly frustrating.

EBay actually admitted to me that this was a glitch but despite telling me it would be looked into it seems nothing was done.  I on;y noticed a problem after a  few buyers  opened a case. My despatch day of 5 working days after purchase was showing correctly but when I looked at what the buyer saw as delivery it  was between 2 days after purchase and 1 day after the date eBay told me to despatch by so basically eBay were not giving me my 5 day handling time and just showing arrival 3-5 days after purchase. I had a few cases opened before I worked out what was happening.  At first ebay refused to admit there was a problem but even once they did they assured me it would be looked into immediately. Not sure when immediately is in eBay speak because the problem is still there

eBay basically ignore sellers handling times, sellers cut off times, and the also the couriers own delivery times.

They replace all that with their own fantasy made up delivery date. Ask a CS agent and some will say it's a glitch, but the official eBay word is that it's "working as designed". Despite being asked many times no one at eBay will say what that design is.

I've often asked in the chat with eBay weekly thread and they say it is working as designed and have no plans to change it.

They say that it is dynamic based upon previous metrics, but beyond that, they will not share any info.

I did see someone else ask about it a week or 2 back in reference to not taking into account holiday settings and they said yes, that is correct, it will not take account of any holiday settings and if you get sales when your holiday settings are applied, you are still expected to ship and deliver the items when you are on holiday.

It just shows they are completely clueless.

They literally throw money away from upselling faster postage and all of the fees that go with that, as there is no incentive for buyers to pay for faster delivery when economy, 1st class and Special Delivery all have the same EDD.

The most frustrating of all is that buyers blame sellers for lying to them with the delivery dates, when it is eBay and eBay alone that are responsible for these

Incorrect Estimated Delivery Times

Yes, we had same issue earlier today, estimated delivery on bank holiday, but I'm afraid you wasting your time.

Ebay EDD fantasy is here to stay and all the associated errors and glitches.

You can adjust your shipping times, or dates and it make no difference, which is bonkers.

For example our estimated delivery times for RM24 and RM48 are identical for over a week now, which is absolute rubbish, but if you try any sort of ebay CS you will be told many different stories and eventually you will realise that nobody will get back to you and technical team will do nothing about it.

EDD algorithm is designed purely to benefit ebay, to lure customers in with fake/fantasy EDD's and in the end seller will pay the price anyway, so either way ebay is the winner.

The only thing what ebay developers didn't take to consideration that all those constant changes, or so called "improvements" make an ebay platform worse and worse for both, sellers and buyers, that's why more and more people are moving away from ebay, as stupidly high amount of poorly comunicated and poorly executed changes, make this platform unworkable for buyers and sellers, also the fees are now over 30%, which means this is the most expensive platform to sell...

I have just had my 2nd open request stating ' item not delivered by eBay stated time'.  For God's sake why do eBay estimate delivery times to buyers, do they have a sixth sense into the Royal Mail schedule I think not.  All this does is leave the floodgates open for buyer requests when the post is slow, which is usually most of the time.  I'm getting fed up with this whole eBay experience, too much anxiety.

I'm having a similar issue I have 2 working days to dispatch an item and send my items by Royal Mail 48 hour tracked which says on ebays systems 2-3 working days, so that's 5 working days in totol, yet all my listings say "free 3 day delivery". Frustrating. I've just had a customer open a case on me as according to the system it's late but it isn't.
