A new RM policy or just mild incompetence?

I had a return this morning, LL tracked 48, delivery attempted on Wednesday, card left, then according to the tracking another attempt on Thursday and then straight back to me.

I thought RM held onto items for 10 days before returning them?

Also, it was a tracked 48 non signature so surely should have gone straight in the letterbox (especially if they managed to leave a sorry we missed you card)?

Is this a new thing or just RM playing silly buggers? Anyone else had similar?

There does seem to be a new policy as I had same

Postie tried to deliver on Monday, and carded me to say we will try again Tuesday

They don't wait for you to request redelivery any more, they just try next day

Luckily I was in to receive it!

Thats been the policy for a few weeks/couple of months now I believe, it should be attempt on day 1, reattempt on day 2 then day 3 you can collect from depot where they hold for 2 weeks and then send back to the sender. Most of the time they dont leave the red card on day one as then people go to depot on day 2 and the parcel is out for delivery. Feel for the people at my depot as they always seem to have a student trying to get a parcel thats back out for delivery.

Thanks for the replies, still seems an error on their part though returning so quickly.
