Failed to open on my Android phone. Can't believe this has happened. My phone company doesn't have a valid UK phone number (Motorola) to see if I can upgrade to version 10. Currently version 9. Apparently new eBay app runs on version 10 onwards. Tried emptying cache from eBay app, restarting phone, cancelling and restarting app. Tried to call eBay but no phone number. All to no avail. Can anyone help as need app to buy and sell on eBay. Been a member for years.

According to a post on the UK community boards, the latest version of the eBay app requires Android 10 or later, or iOS 17 or later.

If you cannot upgrade your operating system or find an older version of the app that works with your current operating system, you should still be able to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk instead.

If eBay browser links are opening in the Android version of the app automatically, you can disable that by going to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Opens supported links and choosing "Don't open in the app". iOS users can tap and hold an eBay browser link and choose "Don't open in the app". Or just delete the eBay app entirely.
